OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus has massively grown its user base over the recent years thanks to some awesome devices, but the company’s best moment must have been when it officially arrived in the U.S. via T-Mobile with the OnePlus 6T in late 2018.

To build on this success, the company has an even better phone dubbed OnePlus 7 Pro. By all means, this is the first true flagship phone the company has released and even though it skimps on one or two features, it stands out in three core areas: the display screen, performance speed, and price.

If you are in the market for a new phone and are still unsure about the OnePlus 7 Pro, we have put together the essential stuff you need to know about this phone, be it the latest news, specs, pricing and availability, software updates, and so on.

There is more to this story here.

Price and availability

OnePlus 7 Pro was launched on May 14th in New York City. The phone was available for purchase as from May 17th. However, those who wished to get an early look at the device could do so on May 14th and May 15th, although this was limited to T-Mobile Signature Store Takeover Events in New York, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Miami.

In 2018, OnePlus went into the $700 segment with OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and this year, OnePlus 7 Pro was expected to debut at a price close to this, which was actually the case.

The base model of OnePlus 7 Pro goes for $669. To get your hands on the 8/256GB model, an extra $30 should do the trick and for the ultimate 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option, you only need $749. For what you get, these prices are some of the best out there, but not unbeatable, which is what we’ve gotten used to seeing from OnePlus.

Why not unbeatable? Well, check out this: Why Asus ZenFone 6 is making prospective OnePlus 7 Pro buyers think twice.

Software update

OnePlus 7 Pro software updates

Google released the first public Android Q beta update at the I/O 2019. During the event, the search giant revealed that more devices will take part in this year’s beta testing program. OnePlus 6T was among the list of devices to participate, but not the only one from OnePlus.

Once you get hold of your OnePlus 7 Pro, an update to Android Q beta will be waiting for you, if interested. It’s similar to last year’s OnePlus 6 launch, where the device was immediately welcomed into the Android Pie beta program following its release.

As for the stable Q update, it should arrive shortly after Google releases the stable version to the Pixels in August 2019. Also, the OnePlus 7 Pro will receive two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of Android security patches.
