Unlock Mether’s Breath by siphoning 8 Ova at the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep, then use the Mether’s Breath option at any activated Beacon to teleport between locations.
Fast travel opens in layers in Mortal Shell 2, which makes the first transport system easy to mistake for the full network. Once you know which resource to collect and where to siphon it, you can fold the unlock into your early exploration instead of saving it for later.
Marrow Keep launchpad vs. Mether’s Breath
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Marrow Keep launchpad | Ride the lift to the roof and use the platform for a one-way launch from the hub to an available Beacon. |
| Mether’s Breath | Adds a travel option to Beacon menus, allowing direct teleportation to discovered destinations across regions. |
The two systems differ mainly in where each journey can begin:
Key The launchpad is useful when it first becomes available, but Mether’s Breath is the early-game upgrade worth prioritizing if repeated lift rides and returns through Marrow Keep are slowing your exploration.
How to unlock Mether’s Breath and start fast travel in Mortal Shell 2
Check your current Ova total, collect what remains, and siphon it at Marrow Keep to add fast travel to Beacon menus.
STEP 1/5
Check your Ova total
Open the inventory to see how much Ova you have collected and how much remains before you reach 8.

STEP 2/5
Cleanse early Beacons
Cleanse Beacons as you clear early locations and dungeons to collect the remaining Ova.

STEP 3/5
Return to the Gloom Siphon
Go back to the globe-like Gloom Siphon machine inside Marrow Keep once you have enough Ova.

STEP 4/5
Siphon the eighth Ova
Interact with the machine to deposit your unclaimed Ova; Mether’s Breath unlocks when the siphoned total reaches 8.

STEP 5/5
Start fast travel from a Beacon
Rest or interact at an activated Beacon, choose Mether’s Breath, switch region or map tabs if needed, select a discovered Beacon, and confirm the trip.

Where Mether’s Breath can take you
The destination screen reflects your progress rather than presenting a fixed route. Depending on the places you have discovered, its entries can include Marrow Keep, Shellkeepers Vault, Merrick’s Quarters, Ova Nursery, Disciple’s Pass, Village Outskirts, and Ruins of Mammon. These are examples, not the complete Beacon list.
After you confirm a destination, a loading screen plays and you arrive beside the selected Beacon, ready to continue exploring that area.

Using Mether’s Breath without losing Gloom
Do not use Mether’s Breath casually from the inventory. Its Return to Marrow Keep command displays a warning and spends all held Gloom. That emergency return can still be worthwhile when you are stranded with little Gloom, but it becomes expensive when you are carrying a large amount.
The inventory command is separate from the regular Beacon network. For routine travel between activated locations, open Mether’s Breath through a Beacon menu.
Adding more Beacons to the travel map

A Beacon must be found and revitalized before it becomes a travel destination. Cleansing serves a different purpose: it awards the Ova needed for the Mether’s Breath unlock. That means you can expand your destination list by activating Beacons even after you have already collected enough Ova.
Interact with every Beacon you encounter. Revitalizing it adds another destination to your network, but remember that resting at a Beacon can respawn nearby enemies.
