How the Slayer Seal changes combat
Successful executions and ripostes restore health and Resolve while the Slayer Seal is equipped. This sustain lets you recover during combat while replenishing the resource used for powerful abilities.
Your Sidearms also deal Break Damage, applying more pressure to enemy defenses and creating additional opportunities to riposte. Together, the recovery and Break Damage bonuses make mistakes less punishing without replacing Mortal Shell 2’s core combat mechanics.
Achievement and trophy lockout
The penalty begins when you equip the Slayer Seal and applies across that save file; achievements and trophies are not merely suspended while the item remains equipped.
Unequipping the Seal is not known to restore them on the same save, so make the choice as though the lockout is permanent.
Keep the Slayer Seal unequipped on any completion save. Use it only for a run where achievements or trophies do not matter.
How difficulty selection works in Mortal Shell 2
Mortal Shell 2 has no traditional difficulty selector. The default challenge is active from the beginning, while collectible items apply optional modifiers.
The Slayer Seal provides the easier experience. Its harder opposite is the Gloombound Flame, which is used to activate Night Mode.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you turn achievements or trophies back on after equipping the Slayer Seal?
No same-save method is available for reversing the lockout. Removing the Slayer Seal afterward should not be treated as a way to recover achievement or trophy eligibility.
Is there a normal Easy Mode option in the settings menu?
No. You begin on the default difficulty and enable the easier modifier by finding and equipping the Slayer Seal in the game world.
What item makes Mortal Shell 2 harder instead?
The Gloombound Flame enables Night Mode. In that mode, enemies deal more damage and appear at greater density around the world.
