Huawei is undoubtedly one of the best Android OEMs when it comes to major Android OS updates. However, it still lags behind other smaller vendors like OnePlus and HMD Global when it comes to timely updates, but this doesn’t mean the company isn’t trying.
For instance, Android 9 Pie stable is already available for the Mate 10 and P20 family of devices as well as the likes of Honor 10, Honor V10 and Honor Play, although a little late to the party. Also, a beta version has recently been released to a series of older devices that include the P10, Mate 9, Honor 9, and Honor V9, among others. And now Honor has just announced that EMUI 9.0 beta based on Pie will hit the Honor 8X next week, the end of November 2018.

At the moment, there isn’t any word on whether the Honor 8X Max will also take part in the beta testing program, but we should know in a few days. Furthermore, we still don’t know the status of Pie for Honor 8X users in India and other markets outside China, although we expect the same update to arrive these sides this coming December 2018.
