Genshin Impact Missing Geoculus: What To Do

Genshin Impact is a new RPG that has become quite popular in recent times. It is an amalgamation of popular RPG mechanics from modern games set in its own continent of Teyvat. You get access to a huge roster of characters and even the ability to acquire new ones through in-game challenges.

You can then use your roster to switch between characters mid-battle to combine their attacks and deal much more damage. In addition to its combat, Genshin Impact focuses a lot on exploration by providing you numerous side quests, challenges, and collectibles.

Completing these objectives helps you earn in-game currency and items which can help you on your journey to complete the game. One such item is Geoculus. Let’s take a quick look at it.

What are Geoculus?

Geoculuses are in-game items that can be offered to the Statues of Seven in Liyue. Offering them to the statues can reward you with rare and unique items that are specific to certain Geoculus challenges. There are many Geoculuses around the map of Teyvat that have been hidden deep in its geography.

Finding them can be a bit challenging but well worth the reward. Geoculuses in Genshin Impact have no other use other than being offered to the Statue of Seven. If you already have some in your inventory, then now would be a good time to redeem them for some rewards.

How to find Geoculus

Geoculuses can be found all around the map of Teyvat. A little exploration can go a long way as they are not shown on your mini-map natively. However if you have gone by or missed some while exploring areas around Teyvat earlier, then you will see their location on the map. Navigating and exploring these locations should help you find some Geoculuses with ease.

Missing Geoculus: How to find them

If you have been looking to complete your collection of Geoculuses in Genshin Impact then here are some tips for you to find the missing pieces.

Tip #1: Use the online map. It’s not cheating.

Unlike other RPG games where using an item map from the internet is frowned upon, Genshin Impact’s developers provide you the map on their own. You can access the map using this link which should show you the location of all the ‘Geoculuses’ currently available on the map. You can use the map side by side while you are in the game to find all the Geoculuses.

Tip #2: Height matters

You can fly, swim, and even explore the underground in Teyvat. Naturally, the map is only a 2D representation of the continent so you might be missing Geoculuses depending on your altitude. Some Geoculuses are located high up in the air while others are hidden underground.

If you are having trouble collecting all the Geoculuses then you should try changing your altitude and looking at the minimap again. This should reveal the location of some hidden/ hard to reach Geoculuses on the map.

Tip #3 Use a walkthrough

Finding collectibles can sometimes be tough in RPGs. It can make you frustrated which takes away the whole point of playing a game in the first place. If you are at this point then there is no shame in going through a walkthrough online.

Once you have collected the Geoculus that you have been unable to find, you can simply get back to your game and close the walkthrough to maintain the entire experience of your gameplay.

We recommend you to avoid going through entire walkthroughs and following them for the entire game. Not only can they reduce the gameplay experience but will also reveal spoilers for major moments that you are yet to encounter in your game.

Here is a comprehensive walkthrough by ‘Taka GG’ on YouTube with specific time codes for the location of each Geoculus. This should help you avoid spoilers while ensuring that you do not get frustrated while looking for one single item.

Tip #4: Keep an eye on your minimap

It is not like Geoculuses are not shown on the map. Once you are close enough to a unit, a disappearing icon for Geoculus should appear on your mini-map which should help you find the item easily. This disappearing icon will vanish from your mini-map if you stray too far away from the location of that particular Geoculus.

How many total Geoculus are there

There are a total of 131 Geoculuses hidden around the entire map of Teyvat. You can find these Geoculuses and offer them to Statues of Seven in the Liyue region to receive unique and exclusive rewards for your efforts.

I have all 131 Geoculus but the statue says I need one more

This seems to be a known bug in the game that seems to be plaguing a few users looking to complete their Geoculus collection in Genshin Impact. For now, there is no way to fix this bug and the only thing you can currently do is wait for a patch that will fix this.

The issue seems to be prevalent enough to be acknowledged by the developers and a fix can be expected in the coming update. For now, there is no official confirmation on the matter as the bug does not seem to plague all users. Many users on YouTube have managed to finish their Geoculuses collection.

We hope this guide helped you find some missing Geoculuses for your collection. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to us using the comments section below.

  1. this doesn’t help when you are missing just one and you’ve gone through the interactive map and still cant find it. It’s beyond frustrating.

    1. Yeah, it means your games bugged man. I just went through all 131 spots for Geoculus today. Still says I’m missing three.

The map isn’t from devs, it’s fan-made, like all the others out there (Chinese players have their own version, for example).
