Where to find the Baby Wyvern egg
The Baby Wyvern is tied to a single, fixed egg spawn in Deleysia, so the real “quest” is just finding the correct cave and getting in safely.

Wyvern’s Cradle sits in the south‑west of Deleysia, around the Three Brothers’ Cliff area. It is north‑west of Fort Windridge and south of Dewhaven, on a rocky cliffside where wyverns and Ironwheel enemies patrol. The egg itself is inside a small cave that also contains a Skyblazer armor set helm piece in a chest, which makes this run doubly worth it.
When you approach the area, do not get baited by the scattered wyvern nests along the cliffs: most are abandoned with broken eggs and cannot be interacted with. The only usable egg is the large intact white Wyvern Egg inside the hidden cave near Wyvern’s Cradle.
How to get the Baby Wyvern Pet in Crimson Desert
Step 1: Travel to Deleysia and locate Wyvern’s Cradle
Head to the south‑western part of Deleysia, aiming for Wyvern’s Cradle near Three Brothers’ Cliff, roughly north‑west of Fort Windridge and south of Dewhaven.

Zoom your map and use the cliff icon cluster as your reference while riding in; arrive with combat gear ready because the area has high‑level patrols.
Step 2: Clear Ironwheel patrols around the cliff
When you arrive, carefully thin out the Ironwheel of Dewhaven enemies guarding the approaches to the cradle. Pull small packs toward safer rock outcrops rather than diving straight into the central ruin; kite them back toward open terrain, and only push into the nest area once patrol paths are manageable and you have a clear escape route.
From the cradle area, look along the cliff edge for a bismuth-colored rock wall marked by an Abyss Gear / hexagonal icon on the minimap. This rock face hides the cave you need; hug the wall and pan the camera until the interaction icon appears, staying alert for remaining patrols that can knock you off ledges mid‑search.

Step 4: Use Focused Force Palm to break the wall
Stand close to the bismuth wall and activate Focused Force Palm on the embedded Abyss Gear.

Hold the button until the targeting flash turns yellow, then release to shatter the rock and open the entryway; if you let go too early the wall will not break, forcing you to reposition and repeat while possibly under enemy pressure.

Step 5: Loot the Skyblazer chest and grab the Wyvern Egg
Inside the cave, move toward the back where you will see a treasure chest with the Skyblazer Helm piece and a large white Wyvern Egg nearby, usually to the right of the chest. Open the chest first to secure the helm.

Then walk up to the egg and use the Pick Up / Store prompt so the Wyvern Egg moves safely into your inventory instead of being carried in your hands.

Step 6: Locate the Wyvern Nest outside the cave
Exit the cave and check your minimap for a nest icon just a short distance to the south‑west of the cave opening.

This is the only functional Wyvern Nest in the area; ignore other broken nests scattered around Three Brothers’ Cliff, as they cannot be used or looted and are just environmental clutter.

Step 7: Place the egg in the nest and wait for hatching
Stand in the center of the active nest, take out the Wyvern Egg, then drop it squarely into the nest’s middle.

The egg will start glowing; wait a few minutes of real time until the Hatch interaction becomes available.

Then press Hatch to trigger the short growth explosion animation that spawns your Baby Wyvern as a permanent pet.

What the Baby Wyvern pet actually does
The Baby Wyvern is marked as a Special / Legendary‑tier pet, similar in prestige to other rare companions. Once hatched, it will fly around your character instead of walking on the ground, staying airborne rather than landing on your hand or shoulder like some other pets.

Functionally, it behaves like a premium looter companion: the Baby Wyvern will automatically loot items from corpses and dropped rewards during and after combat, as long as you have spare inventory space. Thanks to its flight pathing and speed, it is very fast and accurate in vacuuming up drops, making it a strong alternative to earlier favorites like the Iron Eagle.
Developers have also confirmed that Baby Wyverns will eventually be able to grow into full mounts and be registered as rideable in a future update, though as of patch 1.08.00 they remain pets only and cannot be mounted.
Critical mistakes to avoid when hunting the Baby Wyvern
-
Assuming any nest works: Only the nest near the cave is functional; all other wyvern nests around Three Brothers’ Cliff are broken and cannot be used or looted.
-
Ignoring the bismuth wall: The cave is not a normal open hole; you must target the bismuth rock with Focused Force Palm, or you will keep circling the cliffs and never see an entrance.
-
Dropping the egg randomly: The egg must be placed in the proper Wyvern Nest, not on nearby ground or broken nests, or the Hatch prompt will never appear.
-
Leaving before the hatch timer finishes: You need to wait a short real‑time period near the nest before you can hatch; leaving early or fast‑traveling away can delay your hatch and force you to return.
-
Underestimating enemy level: Wyvern’s Cradle is guarded by high‑level mobs and a local boss, so rushing in under‑geared often ends in getting juggled off cliffs or killed before ever reaching the bismuth wall.
-
Expecting to ride it immediately: The Baby Wyvern cannot be mounted yet; do not waste time hunting settings or menus for mount registration until a later update adds the growth system.
Baby Wyvern rewards and key data
Locking in the Baby Wyvern pet means securing one of Crimson Desert’s best auto‑loot companions and pre‑positioning your account for a future rideable wyvern mount, all from a single short dungeon‑style run in Deleysia’s Wyvern’s Cradle. Combine that with the bonus Skyblazer armor helm in the same cave, and this becomes one of the highest‑value detours you can make once your build can handle Deleysia’s south‑western cliffs and elite patrols.
