What is kill cooldown time in Among Us?
Kill cooldown is the time an imposter has to wait in the game before they can use the kill function. The timer resets after every kill forcing the imposter to wait to make the next kill.
This gives crewmates enough time to discover bodies and spot suspicious players around the map. Changing the kill cooldown time can change your game drastically.
With slow kill cooldown times, the imposter will have to rely on strategies and sabotages to accomplish his task whereas, with faster cooldown times, they might be able to make multiple kills before a body is discovered.

Slow kill cooldown times are ideal for casual and relaxing games where you are just trying to have some fun with your friends. Games with faster kill cooldown times result in fast-paced gameplay that keeps everyone at the edge of their seats.
You will always be looking out of the corner of your eye for either a body or an imposter to come and kill you. Doing tasks with faster kill cooldown times will introduce a certain sense of dread as the imposter could come and get you anytime.

How to change the kill cooldown time
Kill cooldown times and other in-game variables can only be adjusted by hosts. Hence you will have to be the host of a game to ensure that you can change the kill cooldown time according to your liking. Let’s take a look at how you can do this.
When you are in the lobby, walk over to the laptop, and tap/click on the ‘Customize’ icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.
Click/tap and select the ‘Game’ tab at the top.
Now scroll this list to find Kill cooldown time. Tap/click on the ‘+’ to increase your kill cooldown time and ‘-‘ to decrease your kill cooldown times.
Once you have set the desired time, tap/click on the ‘X’ in the top left corner of the window.
And that’s it! The kill cooldown time for your room should now be changed to your desired value.

Tip: If you are looking to set very low kill cooldown times then we recommend you reduce player speed and imposter vision.
