You can dispatch Aniimo on timed investigations through Tracing The Trail. One possible Chance Encounter Gift is Energy Resonance, which raises one random innate potential stat on your leader by +1. Choose the Aniimo you want to improve before deploying.
Your leader slot decides who gets the boost. Before you set up an investigation, check your intended leader’s potential: that Aniimo can receive Energy Resonance’s potential boost only if it isn’t already at maximum potential, which prevents the +1 effect.
How to start a Tracing The Trail investigation
Open the event and choose an unlocked area
Press F2 on mouse and keyboard to open Events, or use the Events icon. From there, select Tracing The Trail: The Shadow of Legend and open an available area card to reach the Deploy Aniimo window. The video shows Nimbus Fields. Other clues have unlock timers, so check them as you plan your next investigation.
Assign the Aniimo you want to improve as leader
The orange flag marks your lead slot. Put the Aniimo you want to improve there, choosing one you expect to keep using so the potential boost goes somewhere useful. Your investigation team needs at least two Aniimo, including the leader.
Fill the remaining slots and check the rating
For the Nimbus Fields investigation shown, choose Nimbus Fields Aniimo and add up to three teammates manually or through Quick Select. Before you commit, check the rating and reward previews. In the video, Quick Select produces an S-rated team and additional reward previews, including Flux Crystal, showing what that available roster can achieve. Your team isn’t guaranteed that rating. Give the leader slot another check before deploying.
Check for investigation speed bonuses
Prismana Form and Sparkling Aniimo can shorten investigations through the special individual bonus, so check the displayed duration when you include eligible Aniimo with those forms. Go by your own lineup’s timer. The reduction you see in the video applies to that particular team.
Deploy the team and let the investigation finish
When you’re happy with the leader, teammates and duration, select Deploy to send the team on its timed investigation. Recall lets you bring it back if needed. Once an investigation finishes, you have a chance to receive a Chance Encounter Gift with a randomly selected reward. Energy Resonance is one of those possible rewards, so finishing a dispatch doesn’t guarantee the potential boost.
What Energy Resonance changes
Your designated leader receives +1 to a random innate potential stat from Energy Resonance. The leader slot lets you choose who receives that point, but which stat gets it is out of your hands. The boost affects Innate Potential. You’ll find that listed separately from Acquired Potential in the stat breakdown.
You can inspect these values by opening Aniimo management, selecting your leader and opening its potential breakdown. In the Fulmintis example, the label reading “Perfect” opens a panel with separate Innate Potential and Acquired Potential columns. Check the innate column for Energy Resonance. That’s where you’ll assess the stat it can improve; the acquired column holds the additional points illustrated through Capability Awakening.
Other investigation rewards to watch
You’ll also see Irisalis Petal listed as a guaranteed reward for the Nimbus Fields investigation, with a tooltip naming it as material for crafting Legendary Anipod: Irisalis and Legendary Anipod: Departure with the Wind. Capaseed appears as another event reward. The video shows you can exchange 20 Capaseed for a Capafruit in an in-game shop; its displayed effect raises all innate potential stats by +1. That upgrade differs from Energy Resonance, which increases a single random stat.
