The Chinese, it seems this year are going to be the first to get the best, atleast thats the case with smartphones and tablets ─ the first Quad-core smartphone being Meizu MX and now the first Quad-core tablet the ZTE T98, both were launched by Chinese companies.
The T98 will be the first Quad-corer tablet that the world will see, it will be powered by the new NVidia Tegra 3 chipset and Android Honeycomb 3.2. The T98 features a 7-inch screen(1200×800), a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD recording and a 2-megapixel front camera, when it comes to tablets we need a long lasting battery and ZTE has tossed in a 4000mAh battery to satisfy this power hungry tablet. Also if we are to follow Nvidia’s white-paper there might be an extra-core lurking in the shadows.
Sadly the T98 will only be 3G capable with no 4G or LTE support and there is no place for NFC support as well. The price and release date are also a mystery, the only thing that we know for sure is we will soon be able to see Quad-core tablets become a reality.
