Unlock Flame Breathing by reaching Flame Trainer Rengu on the Forgotten Ruins rooftop beyond Mistfall Harbor, meeting his entry requirements, and completing his training quests.
Flame Trainer Rengu is the only NPC who teaches Flame Breathing in Project Slayers 2. His location takes you away from the usual spawn areas, so arrive prepared for both the journey and his training requirements.
Prepare for Rengu and the Forgotten Ruins route
Reaching Rengu and qualifying for his training are separate tasks. Once you reach his rooftop, he’ll only start the questline when you satisfy the entry requirements.

Demon enemies drop Demon Horns. For a specific farming location, the cave behind Bamboo Grove’s waterfall contains Hoyuzo Subordinate demons that drop them. Collect your materials before leaving so missing horns don’t send you back to earlier zones.
Locate Mistfall Harbor on the world map before setting out; it has its own location marker.
The approach from Bamboo Grove heads east across the river, with a short swim and a climb back onto land near a torii gate. On the Mistfall Harbor side, the area near Mitar leads downhill toward the Wilderness and the waterfront docks. You can dash with Q while descending.
From Mistfall Harbor, the main road reaches a long, dark-red bridge. The crossing continues over that bridge and across the water toward the distant shoreline cliff beneath the large suspension bridge. Swimming covers the water section; water-assisted movement can speed up the crossing.
The tall shoreline rock face provides a direct ascent from the water, bypassing the main road to the upper plateau. The approach passes through Wilderness before reaching Forgotten Ruins, where a cherry blossom tree marks the cliff near the Rengu boss area.
Beyond the boss area and open stone ruins, a red torii gate leads toward a large, two-story wooden house at the plateau’s edge. Its lower eaves provide access to the upper rooftop, where Flame Trainer Rengu stands beside the second-story wall. The destination is upstairs.

Open Flame Trainer Rengu’s dialogue menu and read the full prompt, which displays your level and Demon Horn checks. Accept his training quest once you meet those requirements.

Complete the waypoint trials
Training consists of six trials, with waypoints directing you through them sequentially. Activities include the cup mini-game, push-ups, meditation, and boulder cutting, so handing over the materials doesn’t finish the unlock. Follow the active objective for your next task.

Finish the Flame Trainee stage
The final trial takes you to the Flame Trainee at the cliffside. This opponent has 600 HP; complete the stage’s objective until its counter reaches 5/5.

Recognize the completed unlock
When training succeeds, the quest closes, and Flame Breathing registers on your character. Those are your completion signals.
Rengu boss equipment and drop chances
The nearby World Event Boss Rengu is the landmark along the rooftop approach, with a displayed health bar of 3,000 HP. He’s separate from both the rooftop trainer and the Flame Trainee in your training quest. His equipment drops belong to a separate acquisition path from completing the breathing lessons.

Flame mastery and techniques after training
Finish training, and Flame Breathing gains mastery and unlocks forms. Unknowing Fire is your main approach move to start fights at close range. For defense, Flame Undulation gives you a circular flame motion that can counter careless attacks and punish opponents, but it can also deal damage independently when an enemy enters its area.
The trainer unlock is the start. Beyond it, Final Selection puts you against the Hand Demon, with a chance to earn the style’s mythic Flame drops from that encounter.
