Genshin Impact is a new RPG that comes with modern-day mechanics and a clever art style that seems to be sitting quite well with the fans. The game is set in the huge continent of Teyvat where you can explore and fight your way through objectives to progress in the story.
You also get access to multiple side quests and missions that can help you earn valuable items to increase the stats of your in-game characters. You can even acquire new weapons in the game with increased damage stats which can help you defeat bosses easily.
One such sought after weapon in Genshin Impact is the Rust bow, an ancient Ironbow rusted to its core. Let’s take a quick look at it.

Can you get the Rust Bow for free?
The ‘Rust’ is a 4-star iron bow in Geenshin Impact and sadly, there is no dedicated side quest or challenge that helps you earn this item just yet. This means that currently there is no way to get ‘Rust’ for free.
In the future, you can expect Genshin Impact to offer ‘Rust’ as a reward for completing monthly challenges but it will still be hidden behind powerful bosses.

How to get the Rust bow in Genshin Impact
The only way to get ‘Rust’ is to use wishes in Genshin Impact. The sad part about wishes is that they are a part of the in-game gacha system which can either award you with a 5-star item or even a 1-star item.
Moreover, wishes are a rare currency in Genshin Impact and you might have to buy them if you haven’t been able to earn them in the game. The more number of times you use wishes in Genshin Impact, the higher your chances will be of receiving a 4-star item.
You should keep in mind that there is no way of making sure that the 4-star item you receive will be ‘Rust’.

Chances of getting the Rust bow when drawing a wish
Each wish draw in Genshin Impact involves various variables that help determine your chances of getting a rare item. Let’s take a quick look at them.
Base Draw (4-star items)
Your chances of getting a 4-star item with your wish draw are 5.1% at the base. These odds will increase to 13% and guarantee you a 4-star pull on the next draw if you haven’t received a 4-star item in your last consecutive 10 wishes.
Banner
The ‘Rust’ is available under the ‘Wanderlust Invocation’ wish banner and is part of a permanent item. This banner will always be available in the store, giving you the chance to try your luck any time you want in the future.
If you are looking to buy some wishes and attempt to get ‘Rust’ before October 18th, then we suggest you opt for the ‘Ballad in Goblets’ banner instead.
This is a limited time great banner that is currently available in the store and is themed after in-game archers, Venti and Fischl. Your chances of getting ‘Rust’ will slightly increase with this banner but it is only available for the next week or so.
Is there any other way to get the Rust bow
Well as per the game mechanics, every time you draw a wish, you are rewarded a rare item alongside Masterless stardust and star glitter. If you have enough of star glitter and stardust, then you might be able to exchange them for a 4-star weapon in the game. According to Genshin Impact’s fandom page, the following is the price of a 4-star weapon in the game when using Masterless items.
- 4-star weapon: 2 Masterless Starglitter
Masterless Starglitter and Stardust can be exchanged for items by visiting ‘Paimon’s Bargains’ on Teyvat. You can also exchange more Masterless items in your possession for things like characters, duplicate characters, high tier weapons, and more.
Note: Items keep changing in the Paimon’s Bargains section so if you do not find ‘Rust’ in the redeemable list by any chance, you can then either opt for a different item or wait for ‘Rust’ to be added to this list.
