Drop an egg into the volcano for a 15% chance at Magma, then take it back to your plot and hatch it.
Magma is a hatch mutation in Ride A Pet!, obtained at the volcano. If you collect a Volcanic Egg from the guardian cave, reaching the crater is only one leg of the journey.
You can bring a successful egg home to hatch. This guide covers collecting an egg, attempting the mutation, and getting the egg back to your plot.

How to get the Magma mutation in Ride A Pet!
Collect an egg, try the volcano crater, then deliver the egg to your plot.
1 – Get an egg for the volcano
The guardian cave contains a Volcanic Egg.

Go behind the volcano and enter the cave opening near the tall building.

Follow the descending tunnels
Keep taking paths that lead downward toward the guardian dragon; the approach has no time limit before you collect the egg.

Pick up the Volcanic Egg
At the dragon, approach the glowing Volcanic Egg and use Pick Up; its prompt also displays 2.5T.

Take the left exit
Once you have the egg, the Egg Will Return countdown tells you to escape the lair before time runs out. Head through the left exit.

Keep the wall on your left
Continue straight with the cave wall to your left until you reach the blue crystal.

Turn right at the crystal, then follow the wall on your right to get outside.
2 – Attempt the Magma mutation
Take an egg to the summit crater and read the result before leaving.

With the egg outside the cave, go to the volcano summit instead of your plot. The return countdown is labeled Egg Will Break.

Deliver a successful egg before its countdown expires.

Mount a fast pet, such as a Komodo Dragon or Cerberus, and reach your plot before Egg Will Break runs out. A slow pet can leave too little time, and the egg can break on the return.

Once the mutated egg reaches your plot, begin hatching it.
If you already have an egg, head for the crater. The guardian cave supplies a Volcanic Egg, but a Bloom Egg can receive Magma too.
