As anticipated, Razer this week unveiled its latest gaming smartphone, the Razer Phone 2. The new iteration is quite similar to the previous one, at least one the outside. But there is more going on beneath the hood.
While the Razer Phone 2 keeps the 5.7-inch QHD LCD display with 120hz refresh rate, the front panel is now 50% brighter at 580 nits. The device is also HDR and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound certified by Netflix.
As we told you above, the design of the new phone hasn’t changed much. The bezels on top of the bottom are still pretty thick and housing the two stereo front-facing speakers. Well, this time around each speaker has their own dedicated amp reaching 103 decibels in volume.
The biggest design change is on the back, where the dual cameras are now arranged horizontally and centrally. Beneath, there’s the company’s logo which now supports Chroma lighting. This means users will be able to change the color and use wave effects. The logo will light up when the phone receives a notification. So it might turn Green when you get a WhatsApp message.
