Razer Phone 2 gets September update

One of the leading gaming smartphones in the industry, Razer Phone 2, is getting an update. Apart from bringing the much-needed September 2019 security patch, the update also brings hosts of fixes and improvements.

Razer is one of the most renowned gaming brands in the world. Thanks to their dominance in the PC hardware sector, enthusiasts never doubted their performance when they took over Nextbit and announced themselves in the world of smartphones.

Razer Phones are still widely lauded for their uncompromising performance, but timely software updates have never been their cup of tea. While the rest of the world is preparing for Android 10, some Razer Phone 2 variants are still waiting in the wings to have a taste of Pie.

Security updates, too, very rarely come on time. And considering Razer’s track record, the update we’re discussing today has come earlier than anticipated. First released for AT&T, the OTA has now been made available for the unlocked variant as well.

Coming in at 549 MB, it improves camera stability, Wi-Fi stability, adds Family Link support, bundles in latest GMS apps, fixes known bugs, and, of course, brings the September 2019 security patch.
