Project Slayers 2 All Nichirin Weapons Locations, Drop Rates, and V2 Forging

V2 weapons upgrade an existing katana, so getting the base blade comes first. Dungeon access opens the next part of that progression, with Togane’s Nichirin Forge handling the craft.

Featured katana and Axe and Mace drops

These encounters cover a collection of eight named weapons. Slayer weapons also come from rare chests, special quests, and other farming methods, so boss hunting is one part of the weapon system.

Starting swords from Raze and Zuko

You begin without an automatically supplied weapon. For a purchase, find Raze’s sword shop inside Windy Peak, where you can choose between Regular and Fancy Katanas.

The Rare Cutlass is another early option, dropped by Zuko on Starter Island. Its Double Cut delivers a short two-hit swing, while Quick Draw strikes forward and closes a small gap. These are starting alternatives, not required purchases for the boss katanas.

Northern route to Wind Katana

The northern approach from Beginner Village leads into the Wilderness, where you scale the cliffs.

Saneri also serves as the starting landmark for the northern continuation toward Shinora, followed by Rengu. A long suspension bridge leads to Forgotten Ruins.

Western stops for Serpent and Thunder Katanas

Serpent stop: the torii gate on the western approach leads into Bamboo Grove, where you’ll find Obari.

Thunder stop: Zentaro occupies a hidden pit beyond that encounter. Continue straight and drop into the hidden pit.

Water Katana near Mistfall Harbor

The world map marks shrine travel points, including the Hidden Mist Village Shrine start for this encounter. Its approach heads east past the bridge, with Giyen near Mistfall Harbor.

Mistfall Harbor teleportation also provides an available starting option.

Sound Katanas in Frozen Valley

Frost Veil Shrine sits in Frozen Valley’s snowy biome.

Axe and Mace at Stone Sanctuary

Head west from Hidden Mist Village Shrine until reaching Stone Sanctuary.

Stone Trainee’s encounter is the farming target here; its displayed classification is Wild NPC.

Weapon bonuses and encounter statistics

Axe and Mace is Legendary, Tank class. The katanas span several classes, and their displayed bonuses differ even where their rarity matches.

Weapon rarity, classes, and bonuses

Volcanic Katana’s V2 statistics improve on Flame Katana’s, but that example doesn’t establish identical bonuses for every upgrade. Attack presentation also varies: Insect, Flame, and Serpent have special basic-attack effects, while Wind, Water, and Sound lack special VFX in the showcased attacks.

Insect’s blade throws violet; Flame’s blade runs red along its length. Serpent’s blade trails coiling violet light, while Thunder’s blade is bright at the tip.

Axe and Mace has custom basic attacks and movement effects. These are attack and movement visuals.

Enemy health and encounter rewards

Togane’s forge quest and V2 reforging

Blacksmith Togane starts the forge quest from the forge building in Hidden Mist Village. His Your other forge dialogue opens this progression; ordinary village blacksmith services do not provide the same V2 upgrade access.

The dungeon approach runs toward Rengoku, past the torii gates into Forgotten Ruins. A long bridge leads to the portal at its end, which takes you into the Ouwigahara Dungeon hub.

The dungeon area lets you prepare potions and other supplies before a run. Interacting with its book starts the dungeon, and completed runs provide the points and materials needed for crafting.

At the forge, you select the next-tier recipe matching your existing katana. The choice determines which weapon you receive.

How to collect boss weapons and reach V2 forging

Follow the northern and western encounters, use shrine travel for the remaining targets, and finish with Togane’s dungeon quest.

Begin the Wind Katana route

Start in Beginner Village before setting out toward the northern encounters.

Travel north to Saneri

Head north until the boss area becomes visible.

Climb into the first arena

Climb up to reach Saneri and defeat him for a chance at his weapon drop.

Continue toward Insect Katana

From Saneri, keep heading north toward Shinora.

Climb along the northern route

Work upward and continue straight toward the next encounter.

Fight Shinora

Defeat Shinora before continuing along the northern circuit.

Head toward Flame Katana

Leave Shinora’s location heading north again.

Defeat Rengu

Fight Rengu at the Flame encounter.

Start the western weapon route

Return to Beginner Village after the northern encounters.

Head west to Obari

Travel straight west from the village to reach Obari, then defeat him.

Continue toward Thunder Katana

Keep going straight from Obari’s location.

Descend to Zentaro

Drop into the pit and defeat the hidden boss, Zentaro.

Start the Water Katana route

Teleport to Hidden Mist Village Shrine.

Mount your horse

Use the horse for the onward journey from the shrine.

Ride east to Giyen

Travel east until Giyen becomes visible, then defeat him.

Start the Sound Katanas route

Fast travel to Frost Veil Shrine.

Find Tengai’s encounter

Locate Tengai’s spawn and defeat him when available.

Start the Axe and Mace route

Return through the world map to Hidden Mist Village Shrine.

Travel west toward Stone Sanctuary

Head west and keep going straight.

Fight Stone Trainee

Locate Stone Trainee at the sanctuary and defeat it for a chance at its weapon drop.

Begin Togane’s V2 quest

Visit Togane in Hidden Mist Village to start the forge progression.

Accept Your other forge

Choose the dialogue topic that gives you the quest.

Enter Ouwigahara Dungeon

Follow the quest destination to the dungeon entrance.

Earn the reforge charge

Accumulate 90,000 Dungeon Points for the V2 craft.

Return to Togane

Speak with him again after earning the points to access the V2 crafting choices.

Choose your V2 craft

Open the Nichirin Forge’s Weapons Area, select the matching next-tier recipe, review its material requirements, and confirm the craft.

Flame Katana becomes Volcanic Katana. Other named V2 recipes include Thundercloud Katana, Tidal Katana, and Tornadic Katana.

Confirming the craft spends its listed materials and Dungeon Points. The upgraded weapon then appears in your inventory, where you can view its statistics.

V2 materials and Mythic Refinement Ore

Expect launch-version katana recipes to require Silk Thread, Metal Scraps, and Mythic Refinement Ore alongside the forge charge. Requirements depend on the selected recipe, including how much thread it needs.

Materials for the featured V2 crafts

Mythic Refinement Ore has Mythic rarity. You may be able to obtain it through a 30,000 Dungeon Point method or by completing Denzo’s quest; these are separate acquisition methods.

The item description also identifies smelting lesser stone and obtaining ore from caches.

A larger ore supply supports additional V2 crafts only when you also meet each recipe’s remaining material and point requirements. How you spend that supply matters.

Crude Iron and Breathing Style katanas

Final Selection provides Crude Iron, which Yagane can forge into special Breathing Style katanas. This is its own crafting method, separate from Togane’s V2 reforging.

Hidden Shrine katana behind the waterfall

You may also be able to claim a katana at the unmarked Hidden Shrine behind the waterfall east of the starting village. Its entrance is concealed by a cracked wall that opens with a charged heavy attack; ordinary attacks will not expose it.

Reaching the entrance alone does not complete the claim conditions. An empty altar, a locked door, or no katana appearing can mean one of those conditions has failed.

Nichirin crafting and blade colors

At higher progression, you may also be able to craft a standard Nichirin Katana using 15 Nichirin Ingot and 2 Demon Fang, with the following designation and color rules. This material recipe is separate from Yagane’s Crude Iron craft.

Breathing Styles and blade colors

Your current Breathing Style determines the new blade’s color under this crafting method. The timing of that choice matters.

For material collection, clear every Nichirin Ore node in the endgame zones before switching to another server. That gives you a concrete collection circuit without adding a separate recipe to either forge method.

Nightfall Katana schematic at Mistfall Harbor

The Nightfall Katana schematic is a separate pickup near Mistfall Harbor. Collecting the schematic does not complete a V2 reforge.

Start from the map’s Mistfall Harbor Shrine fast-travel point. The approach leads down to the docks and outward across the water toward the waterfalls, where the entrance lies beneath the surface.

Dive beneath the waterfall to enter an underwater passage that leads to a concealed cove. Once there, swim toward the surface, then climb the nearby wall: the schematic is at the top. Collecting it requires diving and climbing, but no puzzle needs solving.

Nightfall Serpent Katana schematic and cave box

The Nightfall Serpent Katana schematic is also in Mistfall Harbor, inside a secret box in a cave. Opening that box is the pickup’s central requirement.

This gives you the schematic, not a finished weapon. Keep it distinct from the direct waterfall pickup and from Togane’s reforge recipes.
