The Triarch Repeater is found on the ground inside Blackwell Cavern in Mammon, and picking it up unlocks the Old Painless trophy.
The Triarch Repeater is one of the sidearms buried in the southern region of Mammon, and it sits at the bottom of a dark dungeon called Blackwell Cavern. There’s no boss and no puzzle gating it — the whole task is getting there, and the moment you loot the weapon off the ground, the Old Painless trophy pops with it. Below is the exact run from the nearest beacon.
Where the Triarch Repeater sits in Mammon
| Item | Location |
|---|---|
| Triarch Repeater | On the ground inside Blackwell Cavern, Mammon |
| Old Painless trophy | Unlocks the instant you pick up the Repeater |
| Route | Outskirts of Mammon → Road to Absolution → Castigator’s Keep → lower cave entrance |
The Repeater lives deep inside Blackwell Cavern, a cave that opens in the grassy field below the castle-wall area you drop into after the elevator at Castigator’s Keep. The cleanest approach starts at the Outskirts of Mammon beacon and runs through the Road to Absolution, with Castigator’s Keep as the checkpoint you’ll want lit before the final descent. This assumes you’ve already progressed far enough into Mammon to travel there.
How to reach the Triarch Repeater from Outskirts of Mammon in Mortal Shell 2
This route strings together two beacons, a teleport gate and one elevator to drop you right at the cavern that holds the Repeater.
STEP 1/8
Fast travel to Outskirts of Mammon

Open the map and warp to the Outskirts of Mammon beacon, sitting just south of Marrow Keep.
STEP 2/8
Run behind the beacon to the castle wall

Turn around at the spawn and head toward the stone castle-wall structure — a chest tucked nearby holds a Foundry Stone worth grabbing on the way.
STEP 3/8
Follow the Road to Absolution

Push further into the walls to trigger the Road to Absolution and follow the path; the enemies lining it can be fought or simply run past.
STEP 4/8
Use the gate to cross the ravine

At the end of the pathway, activate the teleport gate to transfer across the ravine to the far side.
STEP 5/8
Cleanse the Castigator’s Keep beacon

Climb the stairs, clear the snipers waiting up top, and cleanse the beacon to tag a checkpoint and fast-travel point.
STEP 6/8
Activate the wooden elevator

Follow the castle wall to the wooden elevator platform and ride it down to the grassy lower area.
STEP 7/8
Head into the Blackwell Cavern entrance

Follow the lower path down the slope past a few easy enemies to the small cave mouth set into the cliff below the keep.
STEP 8/8
Pick up the Triarch Repeater

Take the lift down, break through the wooden barrier, and grab the Repeater off the ground beside a note not far into the fog.

Enemies and hazards along the route

Nothing on this run is a hard wall, so you can pick your fights. The enemies on the Road to Absolution are skippable, but the stretch after the ravine is trickier — there are snipers perched up top who will chip at you from range, plus a rolling enemy at ground level. Clearing the snipers before you deal with anything else keeps them from harassing you mid-fight.
The real difficulty is Blackwell Cavern itself. Past the wooden barrier the cave turns thick with fog and cuts your visibility down to a few feet, and it’s packed with ghoulish wraith-like enemies that are easy to lose track of in the murk. You can run straight for the Repeater, but the note and the weapon aren’t far in, so a slow, careful push works just as well.
Inside the cavern the darkness washes the screen out, so lock on to each wraith to track it — free-aiming in that fog is how players lose the enemies and take hits from off-screen.
When Old Painless pops
Key There’s no extra condition hanging off this one. Old Painless unlocks the instant you pick the Triarch Repeater off the ground — the weapon acquisition and the trophy land together in the same moment. You don’t need a kill count, an upgrade, or any challenge; reaching the cavern and looting the sidearm is the entire requirement.
The Triarch Repeater map and what the weapon does

The Triarch Repeater is a ranged sidearm — a rapid-fire repeater that deals steady damage from a distance. You may also stumble across a separate Triarch Repeater map elsewhere in Mammon while exploring, which can mark the dungeon on your world map early. That map is not the weapon itself, though; the pickup in Blackwell Cavern is what actually unlocks the sidearm and the trophy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need the Triarch Repeater map before picking up the weapon?
No. The map is entirely optional — it only reveals the dungeon’s location on your world map ahead of time. It turns up in the Crumbling Tunnel dungeon out in the Outskirts of Mammon, found by shooting the explosive jars blocking a dark side cave and looting it at the end. You can ignore it completely, run the route above, and still grab the Repeater.
What should you do if the Triarch Repeater will not fire after unlocking it?
It’s not bugged — the Repeater is Resolve-gated and needs at least 50 ammo stored before it will fire at all, up to a maximum of 100. Build Resolve in combat to fill that reserve and the weapon starts working normally.
