Head to the area’s first beacon, Sipping Mire, then continue past it toward the gates ahead. Clearing the enemies is optional: sprint through them if you only want the collectible and interact with the required objectives. Continue until you reach the Sunken Village beacon, then light it and cleanse it.

Drop down and kill the giant worm

If you only want the stone, sprint straight through the encampment. None of the enemies need to be killed, so keep running and stop only to break the energy pillars and open the chest.

Corroded Stone makes every successful projectile hit deal lingering damage over time, with each Tarstone level increasing the damage of each tick. The tick uses the original impact damage, so the stone is strongest with heavy, high-damage hits. Pair it with powerful sidearms or projectile abilities, and one well-placed shot will keep wearing down a tough enemy for the full duration. It won’t turn a weak pea-shooter into a boss-killer, but the extra sustained damage builds quickly on a hard-hitting ranged setup.
Upgrading Corroded Stone at the Tarforge
Upgrade Corroded Stone at the Tarforge to increase its damage ticks. First, collect the Etching Needles key item in the Glutted Mire and give it to Franz in Marrow Keep. This unlocks the Tarforge next to him, where you can spend Tarstone experience and Coin to level up the stone. Coin costs vary by tier, so keep extra Coin available instead of planning around one fixed amount.

It’s inside the beacon. Corroded Stone never appears in the open Glutted Mire around Mushroom Village. Cleanse the Sunken Village beacon and descend into the Wortbriar Encampment to reach its chest.
Do you have to finish the whole beacon before the chest appears?
No. The chest belongs to the route through the encampment rather than the final corruption-cleansing reward. You can collect Corroded Stone as soon as you reach the chest, without finishing the beacon or claiming its final reward. The last corruption node does not control the pickup; the chest is part of the run, not an end-of-beacon prize.
Does Corroded Stone drop anywhere else?
No. The current build contains one guaranteed copy in the chest inside the Sunken Village Beacon and no alternate source. Once you’ve opened that chest, there is no second location to check.
