Huawei Mate 20 X update improves Face Unlock and Camera, also fixes cannot connect to camera bug

Huawei is starting off the new year with a bunch of update rollouts for their devices. The company has begun seeding out the Android 9 Pie update for the Nova 3i, Honor 8X, and the Mate 20 Lite. Now, it’s time for Mate 20 X users to rejoice since the company has promptly released an update which fixes a few major issues experienced by users.

The new version of the update is 9.0.0.172 and is available for Huawei Mate 20 X users to download and install on their devices via OTA.

The Mate 20 X features an enormous 7.2-inch display with a minimal teardrop notch display and also packs in the latest flagship chipset by Huawei which is the Kirin 980. The new update brings along improvements to the Face Unlock feature as well as the Camera application, where the photos clicked should look more natural than before, and closer to how they looked in the preview.

The update also claims to fix the ‘cannot connect to camera‘ bug which was affecting several users and prevented the users from using the camera application. The update also comes with the December 2018 security patch which is a little disappointing since we’re now in January.
