Samsung is tightening the security within the company to avoid leak of any details about their upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship. There have been several rumors and reports about the Galaxy S8, and Samsung mobile business chief isn’t happy.
Although we’ve had tons of Galaxy S8 rumors and leaks already, the appeal may still have its good effect since we’re expecting even more leaks to fly to web as the release draws closer.
Koh Dong-jin, the Mobile Business Chief for Samsung Electronics has asked employees to keep mum and keep details, leaks, etc. under wraps. He sent the following email to employees:
I feel deeply regretful to hear news of the recent attempts at data breach and prototype leak. Samsung had a bitter experience due to the leak of important data — on product design and business strategies — to China and consequently suffered damages in the past.
We know a lot about the upcoming flagship from Samsung, and most of what we’ve heard looks reasonable enough. Talking about Galaxy S8 specs, it would most likely come with two display sizes — 5.7″ and 6.2″ — and might use the display tech from Galaxy Note 7. Other rumored/leaked specs include a Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, dual cameras, an AI assistant and more.
Samsung is said to announce the Galaxy S8 before the start of MWC 2017, probably around the last week of February. It may go on sale around April 2017. This new security constraints may limit new info leaking from China, but it will probably not stop it. There’s still a lot of time for the Galaxy S8 to come out, and we will keep you updated about new details.
