Learn to Save

Train the zombies into a shambling, mindless throng befitting their mindless nature until you have at least 10,000-ish coin — enough to open all of the doors and Pack-a-Punch your launcher before really getting your hands (and arms, shoulders, feet, and legs) really dirty.

By then you should also roughly enough to salvage to upgrade your Launcher a couple of times to add a bunch of damage on top of the Pack-A-Punch. Don’t spend coin on anything else until you’ve got the Launcher kitted out this much — it’s a waste.

Once you have your Launcher Pack-a-Punched and leveled up at least a few times.

Make Every Shot Count

With your launcher Pack-A-Punched and leveled a couple of times, you should be able to one-shot clusters of zombies with ease until somewhere around 20, after which it’ll take 2 of the 3 shots in your magazine.

Once you start to approach wave 30, however, even Pack-a-Punched and fully upgraded with fire ammo, you’re going to need all 3 shots of your Launcher to kill Zombies so make sure you’ve got the Zombies herded into tight groups and make good use of your stuns.

Be Ultra-Macho; Punch Zombies (In The Face)

This tip is more specific to the Brushstroke challenge, widely considered the biggest pain in the @#$ of the Launcher camo challenges. Even though Brushstroke multi-kills are grouped into fives, because the challenge’s exact language is “5 or more”, even 10+ multi-kills only count as 1.

So, to get some points towards Brushstroke, one viable strategy is to, for Wave 1, punch all the zombies to death. In the second wave, one punch will leave zombies with just enough health, and be coming slowly enough to train into groups of exactly 5. One-punch the zombies, train them into fives and then blast them.

Buy the Bow

Once you have 50+ High Tech Salvage, it may be prudent to invest in a Combat Bow simply to deal with radioactive enemies. You won’t be investing in any weapon other than the Launcher strong enough to take out Megatons or Dogs without breaking a sweat, so to keep the ride to Plague Diamond and Dark Aether smooth just invest in a bow to take out just such road bumps.

The best kind of zombie really is the exploded-kind of zombie. And if you’re going to work your way through the ocean of zombie-bits it takes to get to that coveted Plague Diamond or Dark Aether camo, you better get used to it.
