Set up the Yellow Tower tunnel route
Finish the Yellow Lighthouse/Tower before going underground. That objective has you bring five red MacGuffins/totems to the tower and use the tower’s key sequence to open the island’s tunnel system.
Once the tunnels are open, go to the dome-shaped entrance near the Blue Lighthouse. This side lines up quickly with the green-pipe turn and the colored tunnel path.
Pick up the provided Torch/flashlight at the entrance. The tunnel is pitch black without it, and the color changes in the walls and floor are the main way you keep the route straight.

For the most reliable unlock, have another player hold the Shiny Paintbrush, choose one metallic color, and paint any part of your character. If the brush lets you paint yourself in your session, the same trigger is what matters: Big Makeover pops once shiny metallic paint is applied to your character.
Mistakes that block Big Makeover
The first failed route is usually an incomplete Yellow Tower prerequisite. If the tunnel doors are not available, return to the tower objective and finish the five MacGuffin/totem delivery and key sequence before trying the Blue Lighthouse entrance again.
Check the dead-end wall after the lower purple drop; the shiny studio is hidden there, so turning back at that point skips the achievement room.
