With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla having been out for a while now, the internet is quickly being flooded with many an AC Valhalla build for players to choose from. From stealthy Raven assassin builds to caution-to-the-wind Bear builds that would make Conan himself smile, there’s a lot to choose from.

Note that this is far from an exhaustive list of possible builds that a keen-eyed Viking can theorycraft — just a few that we developed to help raise hell and raze villages from Norway to England.

AC Valhalla Build: Frenzied Axe Murderer
The Dual Axe berserker makes use of complementary passives of the Housecarl’s Axe and Varin’s Axe, which synergize to create quickly escalating DPS.
This attack build, while lacking the AoE or Crowd Control of a heavy weapon build or beefy defenses of a shield build, manages to be versatile even in larger scale encounters through sheer kill-speed.
As something of a glass cannon, this double-axe build requires mobility and careful positioning to reap its blood-spattered rewards without paying the price for its squishiness.

Alternative Weapon set: Varin’s Axe + Mournful Cry
The Housecarl’s Axe can be swapped out for the incredibly powerful Mournful Cry. While you lose the flat attack-stacking synergy the Housecarl’s Axe shares with Varin’s, the buffed Attack Speed increases your chances of proccing the on-crit poison effect of Mournful Cry.

AC Valhalla Build: Twin Fangs – Dual Dagger Vampire
With some of the best synergy in the game, The Dual-Dagger Vampire build uses the perfectly coinciding passives of Kopis and Hundoth to deal massive DPS alongside a correspondingly immense amount of life-steal.
The trick is to leap into the frenzy with reckless abandon, mowing opponents down with little regard to (some) of the attacks of surrounding enemies.
With Kopis restoring health for every critical hit, and Hundoth significantly boosting crit-chance whenever you dip below 50% health, you can afford to directly attack with an insurance policy; either things go well enough that you don’t need Hundoth’s passive, or you kick into overdrive the moment your health bar hits the halfway mark. Certainly one of the more fun builds to play in AC Valhalla.
For added killing power, you can begin fights with the Skadi’s Wrath bow, which gives you a huge 15% crit boost for 10s when hitting an enemy weak point.

Alternative Weapon set: Fafnir’s Fang + Kopis
Alternatively, Hundtoth can be swapped out for Fafnir’s Fang to provide extra range and crowd-control while providing a different sort of crit-buff.
This requires investment in the Bear skill-tree for Heavy Dual Wield but might be worth it for those who like the idea of more CC and balance compared to the frantic, high-speed stab-fest that is the Hundtoth/Kopis combo.

AC Valhalla Build: Ranged Marksman
The AC Valhalla Ranged Marksman build is a straightforward, long-range build for those who prefer the patient, socially distant method of manslaughter.
In pursuit of a true ranged build, the Ranged Marksman build prioritizes a selective mix of skills in both the Raven and Wolf tree to build directly for Predator Bows rather than Hunter bows and caters to a careful, methodical, and procedural approach to engagements.
Your choice of weapon will depend on your own playstyle — Needler is more offensive, allowing you to clear groups of enemies with the Sleep bomb, while Longbow’s close-range smoke bomb is a great disengage that allows players to return to range and stealth should enemies get the jump on them.

AC Valhalla Build: Double Barrel Hypno-Shield
Certainly the most meme-worthy of the builds on this list, the Double Barrel Hypno-Shield is our take on the several varieties of double-shield builds doing the rounds online.
Indeed, against most expectations, the Double Barrel Hypno-Shield makes it possible to build for defense without sacrificing much in the way of damage output, and is the build of choice for those who like to play as a bruiser.
The Shishi Guard’s sleep bomb effect coincides beautifully with the Hrafn Guard’s, activating the moment the latter’s speed buff stacks have maxed out — letting you quickly dispose of enemies as soon as they’re knocked out.
