The route runs through the cave path on the east side of the zone. After passing the Cave Interior campsite, take the upward elevator; this brings you to the Cave Depths Camp area where the strongbox is waiting beside the campsite.
If you reach Cave Interior and keep looping through lower tunnels, backtrack and look for the upward elevator instead of searching deeper in the lower caves.
