AT&T LG V40 ThinQ gets Android Pie update

AT&T LG V40 ThinQ users can finally heave a sigh of relief as the carrier has begun rolling out the Android Pie update. So far this update was only available for Verizon.

The V40 ThinQ is already late to the Pie party which has become old news with many phones on their way to receiving the Android Q Beta update thanks to a collaboration between Android Developers and project Treble.

The AT&T update page for the LG V40 ThinQ was yet to be updated at the time this post was being written, but Reddit user lone_observer’s post confirmed the arrival of Android Q for AT&T users. You can download the update from your phone’s Settings.

The V40 should be receiving Android Q update too down the line but given LG’s pace in rolling out Pie update, it’s hard to be pleased with even that. The Android Q beta is not available for the V40 though as the only LG device to get that pleasure is the G8.

  1. I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact Verizon and AT&T got updates before Sprint and T-Mobile. Historically, it’s always been the other way around.
