The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has received a Marshmallow based update. Going by the build number G890AUCU5CPK3, the 324MB update features security patches with bug fixes and performance improvements. It also brings improvements for AT&T Messages Backup and Sync and to AT&T Wi-Fi calling service.
Before downloading the update, be sure to charge your device to above 50% and also make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. The Nougat update will feature a lot of new customization options and also improve battery life too. The Nougat OTA update for the Galaxy S6 is expected to be out by early 2017.
Competing OEMs are also working on Nougat update for their flagship devices. Sony has released the Nougat OTA update for the Xperia X and X Compact. It won’t be long before the Xperia Z5, Sony’s flagship from last year gets the update too. The OnePlus 3T is also in line for Nougat as revealed from a Gfxbench leak.
