Verizon releases PJ4 update for Galaxy S6 Edge Plus with September security patch

Verizon Wireless has released a new update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. This update includes several bug fixes, improvements and September security patch. The software version is G928VVRU3BPJ3.

Users of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus smartphone should definitely install this update. Unfortunately, this appears to be just a bug fix update with the security patches for September. There are no new features added in this Galaxy S6 Edge firmware. Make sure you’re on a strong WiFi or Cellular connection and the device has more than 50 percent charge before downloading the update.

Remember, this is still a Marshmallow update, and the Galaxy S6 Edge Android Nougat update is still being worked on. Samsung recently released the third update for Galaxy S7 Android 7.0 Beta. However, the company has stopped accepting new registrations for the beta program.

The Android Nougat update for Galaxy S6 will most likely drop in the first quarter of 2017. Until then, you will have to continue using Marshmallow. Nougat will bring a lot of new features and improvements to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and is a big update.
