In Aniimo, Tracing the Trail: The Shadow of Legend offers free investigation rewards while your team works away in the background. The choice that deserves your attention comes before deployment: which Aniimo you want to keep building.
How to deploy a Tracing the Trail investigation
The Deploy Aniimo window has one leader slot and three teammate slots, with an orange flag marking the leader. That position determines who can benefit from the event’s potential increase.
Set up and send your investigation team
Open the event, choose your leader, and assemble the team for an available investigation.
- Open Events — Press F2 on mouse and keyboard, or select the Events icon to open the active events list.
- Select Tracing the Trail — Choose Tracing the Trail: The Shadow of Legend to see its clue locations and overall progress.
- Choose the investigation and leader — Open the available Nimbus Fields area card, then put the Aniimo whose stats you want to improve in the leader slot.
- Fill the teammate slots — Choose the remaining teammates manually or press Quick Select, then review the resulting investigation rating.
- Review Special Individual Bonuses — Scroll down to Special Individual Bonuses. Prismana Form and Sparkling Aniimo sense residual energy and shorten investigations; the showcased setup reduced its timer from four hours to two hours and 48 minutes.
- Deploy your team — Press Deploy to begin the timed investigation with your selected lineup.
Quick Select produced an S rating in the showcased setup, while a manually assembled lineup received A; the leader-only preview had displayed B. S was the highest rating, and the S-rated lineup displayed additional rewards. Matching an area’s preference conditions can also improve the reward rating.
The early event state had Nimbus Fields available first, with later clue countdowns displaying 13 hours, one day, two days, and three days. Those clues lead to separate areas across different biomes. The event was described as running for 80 days, a separate duration from an individual investigation’s timer.
Revisit Tracing the Trail as more clues open to access newly available investigations and rewards while the event is active.
How Energy Resonance changes your leader’s potential
Finishing an investigation gives you a chance to receive one Chance Encounter Gift. If you receive a gift, it grants one randomly selected reward from its listed possibilities, including Energy Resonance. There are two random stages, so completing a dispatch does not guarantee the potential upgrade.
Energy Resonance adds +1 to one random Innate Potential stat on your designated leader. An Aniimo can receive this Random Leader Aniimo Potential +1 effect only once in its lifetime.
To view the affected values, open Aniimo Management, select your leader, and open its potential breakdown, labeled Perfect in the demonstrated menu. The breakdown separates Innate Potential from Acquired Potential; acquired values represent extra points you have already invested.
Training > Capability Awakening is the resource-based stat-upgrade route. It uses Star Sand, with progression changing the required resources and eventually requiring additional materials and currency. The available upgrade resources are limited.
Event materials and the Capafruit upgrade
At the bottom of Fulmintis’s potential breakdown, Increase Innate Potential previews the resulting values for your Capafruit upgrade. Capafruit adds plus one to every innate potential stat shown in that preview.
