We expected to see the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 make its debut with MIUI 10 preinstalled, but this wasn’t the case. Instead, the device is one of the many that will receive the software via an update and in fact, the beta version is already available for download.
When exactly Xiaomi will release the stable version is still unknown, but we don’t expect the update to arrive any later than mid-Q4 2018.

Mi Pad 4 Android 9 Pie update
- Android 9 Pie update is expected in Q1 or Q2 2019
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 has Android 8.1 Oreo running the show out of the box and as tradition dictates, the slate has at least one major OS upgrade to look forward to. This update is Android 9 Pie, which is already available for a handful of Xiaomi devices to test before the official rollout commences somewhere in Q4 2018.
One little problem, though, is that Xiaomi has kept quiet on its Android Pie plans, meaning we are relegated to making educated guesses. As is, our instincts tell us that the Mi Pad 4 will receive the Pie update somewhere in Q1 or Q2 2019, at least if the all the hype behind Google’s Project Treble is to be considered.
