QUICK ANSWER
Finish the prologue campaign before patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek, spend reset currencies and catalyst charges, wrap up Season 1 achievements and Delve rewards, prep professions and consumables, and plan around the one-week gap before Season 2 starts.

Patch week and season week are separate, so prep them separately. Before reset, clean up Season 1 goals. During the first week of patch 12.1, push the new campaign and open-world content so you are ready when the raid, Mythic+, PvP season, and Season 2 Delve systems go live.

Patch 12.1 and Season 2 dates

Date Unlocks
August 11 in NA / August 12 in EU Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek, the Curse of Ula’tek campaign, open-world achievements, collections, mounts, and weekly Mythic Zero dungeon clears
August 18, 2026 in NA / August 19, 2026 in EU Midnight Season 2, The Venomous Abyss raid, Mythic+, the new PvP season, Season 2 Bountiful Delves, and the new Prey season

KEY!

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek launches first. Midnight Season 2 starts one week later, so do not schedule raid nights, Mythic+ pushes, or PvP climbs for the patch reset.

The first reset is for campaign and setup work, not the full competitive season. The raid, Mythic+, PvP season, Season 2 Bountiful Delves, and the new Prey season all start on the Season 2 reset.

Reset-week prep checklist

Prep task Do now
Legacy of the Amani prologue Finish Chapter 1 from Silvermoon so the Curse of Ula’tek campaign can continue cleanly.
Dawn crests and Season 1 currencies Spend them on final upgrades before the Season 1 currency group resets.
Dawn Light Manaflux Use remaining catalyst charges on eligible upgraded gear before charges reset.
Omnium Folio Pick up the quest near Magisters’ Terrace on Quel’Dianas and start the small expansion-wide power track.
Ahead of the Curve, Cutting Edge, PvP, and Mythic+ Make final Season 1 pushes for achievements, rating, titles, and mounts.
Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus Solo Torment’s Rise in Voidstorm on ?? difficulty for the Arcano Void Construct mount.
Delver Journey and Prey season Push unfinished Season 1 progress to 10/10.
Restored coffer keys Spend them in Bountiful Delves before they are lost.
Valyria Sanguinar Level her as close to 60 as possible because her level carries forward.
Professions and bags Prepare for early-season markets and clear space for new drops.
Consumables Use or sell old health potions; keep useful oils, flasks, and combat potions where they fit your build.
Turbulent Timeways Level alts to 90 before Timewalking leaves Group Finder at patch launch.

KEY!

Use the checklist as triage. Time-limited Season 1 goals come first, then character power, then market and quality-of-life cleanup.

Spend Season 1 currencies and catalyst charges

Resource Best use before 12.1
Dawn crests Upgrade final gear pieces so your main enters patch week stronger.
Season 1 currency group Spend useful leftovers before the group resets with patch 12.1.
Dawn Light Manaflux Use catalyst charges at the Silvermoon catalyst before they reset.
Upgraded eligible gear Convert higher-upgraded pieces first for better tier appearance unlocks.

Open the currency tab and check the Season 1 group before the reset. Anything still sitting there should become item upgrades now or be counted as expiring value.

The catalyst is also a transmog cleanup tool. Convert a sufficiently upgraded piece and finish a high-difficulty set appearance to unlock the lower versions too, including Heroic, Normal, and Raid Finder appearances.

QUICK WIN

Use catalyst charges on your highest-upgraded eligible gear first so one strong conversion fills in more tier-set appearances before the reset.

Pick up the Omnium Folio

The Omnium Folio is a small expansion-wide power system that lasts into Season 2. It gives five selectable bonuses, and having it ready before launch week removes one grind from your Season 2 setup list.

Fly north out of Silvermoon to Quel’Dianas and head for Magisters’ Terrace. The quest pickup is inside: go through the door, turn left, move right, and head up the rear stairs.

Finish Season 1 reward goals

Reward goal Deadline action
Ahead of the Curve Make the final raid push before the Season 2 rollover.
Cutting Edge Finish the Mythic raid achievement while Season 1 is still active.
Rated PvP Lock in remaining rated rewards before the new PvP season starts.
Mythic+ rating, title, and mount goals Push final Season 1 score and title targets before the Mythic+ season changes.
Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus Complete the solo Torment’s Rise run in Voidstorm on ?? difficulty for the Arcano Void Construct; this mount is not available in Season 2.
Delver Journey Finish the Season 1 track to 10/10.
Prey season progress Finish remaining levels up to 10/10.

This is the last serious push window for Season 1 prestige rewards. Power gets replaced, but seasonal achievements, competitive placements, and Delve rewards become much harder to clean up once Season 2 begins.

Use Delve keys on Valyria Sanguinar

Restored coffer keys should be spent before the Season 2 transition, because they are lost instead of becoming a head-start stash. Run Bountiful Delves and feed that progress into Valyria Sanguinar.

Her current cap is 60, and her level carries into Season 2. Season 2 raises her cap to around 80, so getting her close to 60 now makes early Delves smoother when the new season starts.

If you have the time and keys, aim for the daily set of four Bountiful Delves. This turns expiring keys into companion power instead of leaving them to vanish at the reset.

Prepare professions, bags, alts, and consumables

Prep area Recommended action
Bags Clear old gear, tokens, and junk so you have room for patch-week drops and collections.
Professions Set up materials and crafting plans for early Season 2 demand.
Health potions Use or sell old versions before larger health potions arrive.
Oils, flasks, and combat potions Keep useful stock where your build still uses it; Potion of Recklessness remains a likely pickup for some players.
Alts Use Turbulent Timeways and Timewalking to level Season 2 characters to 90 before patch launch.

The first weeks of a new season make crafted goods and consumables more expensive, so profession prep is both a power play and a gold-making window. Clear your inventory too; patch week fills bags fast with campaign items, Delve rewards, outdoor collectibles, and gear clutter.

This is also the moment to choose the characters you are actually playing. A clean main and one ready alt beat six half-prepped characters with empty consumable tabs and full bags.

First-week priorities before Season 2 opens

Available in week 1 Waits for Season 2
Curse of Ula’tek campaign and open-world progression The Venomous Abyss raid
Achievements, collections, and mounts Mythic+ dungeon season
World content cleanup and character setup Full seasonal dungeon rotation
Weekly Mythic Zero dungeon clears Season 2 Bountiful Delves, new Prey season, and new PvP season

Once patch 12.1 is live, spend the one-week gap on content that is open immediately: the Curse of Ula’tek campaign, open-world achievements, collections, mounts, and weekly Mythic Zero dungeon clears.

For gearing, each Mythic Zero dungeon can be cleared once during the first week and awards item level 292 Champion 1/6 gear. Once Season 2 begins, that lockout moves back to once per day.

Frequently Asked Questions
