Asus ZenFone 6 is one of the most interesting smartphones on the market right now. Save for its humongous 5000mAh battery unit combined with powerful flagship performance specs and a midrange price, the phone also comes with a motorized flip-up camera, the first of its kind.

The dual-lens camera is already making headlines as the best selfie shooter as per tests performed by DxOMark, but that’s not all there is to the ZenFone 6. It also ships with a clean ZenUI 6 skin on top of Android 9 Pie, the closest to stock Android you can get from any ZenUI-based Asus smartphone and this is a big deal for many fans of stock Android.

With all these greatness, the ZenFone 6 is obviously turning heads. And the result is that even more questions are coming up, including if and when the device will be upgraded to Android Q.

Well, just to be clear, Asus has promised at least two major OS updates, that is, Android Q and Android R. As for when, we can’t say for sure, but given the ZenFone 6’s predecessor, Asus ZenFone 5Z, is participating in Android Q beta with a possible Q3 2019 release date for the stable version, the newer model should get Q somewhere in Q4 2019.

Who knows, Asus could even add the ZenFone 6 to its Android Q beta testing program at some point in the coming weeks, which could change everything about the expected release date. But for now, your best chance of receiving Q is Q4 2019.
