Verizon is seeding new software updates for the LG V10, LG K8 V, and the LG K8 V Prepaid. These new updates will improve the security of your smartphone. They are available as an over-the-air download at the moment.
If you own any of the mentioned devices, then you should be receiving the notification for the update now. Some of you may have already got the update. We recommend that you install it as soon as you get it.
The LG V10 gets software version VS9902BA which brings improvements to the HD Voice/Video call screen. When you make a video call over LTE network, you will now see the LTE icon. The update will also install the December Android security patch on the phone.
On the other hand, the LG K8 V gets software version VS50020g and the K8 V Prepaid gets version VS500PP6. Both the phones do not get any new features as such, but they do get the latest January Android security patches.
So yes, if you’ve got these devices on Verizon, then you should download the new updates and install them right away. LG is currently rolling out the Oreo update for the LG V30, and there are new rumors that the company may announce an AI centric variant of the V30 during MWC next month. Also, we may not see the LG G7 next month!
