To get the third-floor relic in The Hollow, reach the catacombs, solve the gravestone lock, collect the coffin’s key, and escape to the elevator.
The third-floor relic is a key hidden inside a locked coffin in Roblox’s The Hollow. Getting it takes you through the theater maze to a catacomb chamber, where gravestone inscriptions supply the coffin’s code.
Collecting the key leaves you with a return trip: you still need to escape without getting caught. This guide covers reaching the puzzle room, working out the gravestone symbols, and bringing the relic back to the lobby.
How to get the third-floor relic in The Hollow
Reach the third-floor catacombs, solve the coffin’s gravestone puzzle, and escape back to the lobby.
Part 1 – Reach the third-floor catacombs
Start at the theater entrance and follow the route toward the puzzle chamber.
Enter the theater
Run straight across the courtyard and through the theater entrance. The orange arrow in the entrance illustration points toward the doorway.

Find the elevator
Follow the main hallway’s red carpet to the elevator at the far end. Its doorway sits beneath the WATCH PARTY sign.

Select the third floor
Inside the elevator, press 3 on the panel to travel to the third floor.

Leave the elevator
When the Floor 3 arrival banner appears, walk through the double doors into the third-floor theater area.

Find the glowing portal
Follow the theater maze’s corridors and stairs toward the glowing portal doorway, marked by a red arrow in the illustration. An entrance opens onto a desert-town set, and a portal destination banner reads Dead Rails. The route also includes the theater’s upper corridors.

Enter the catacombs
Cross the purple energy barrier into the circular stone catacomb chamber. Skull shelves and wooden crates furnish the room.

Part 2 – Solve the gravestone puzzle and collect the relic
The gravestones supply the symbols needed to open the central coffin.
Calculate the gravestone lifespans
Examine each gravestone’s years and icon, then calculate its lifespan as death year minus birth year. Select the symbols belonging to the three shortest-lived people: Josiah Crane, Edith Harrow, and Ruth Pember for the inscriptions listed here. Keep each symbol paired with its gravestone.
Gravestone dates and lifespans
| Gravestone | Birth–death years | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| Oscar Lane | 1796–1845 | 49 |
| Nell Wick | 1795–1860 | 65 |
| Josiah Crane | 1835–1876 | 41 |
| Thomas Wren | 1839–1895 | 56 |
| Ada Fenn | 1790–1834 | 44 |
| Edith Harrow | 1838–1877 | 39 |
| Ruth Pember | 1855–1893 | 38 |
| Mabel Voss | 1809–1852 | 43 |

Open the coffin’s grave lock
Approach the central coffin and press E to open GRAVE LOCK. It has three scrollable symbol dials, and the interface carries the labels I, II, and III. Set the left dial to Witch Hat, the middle dial to Bat, and the right dial to the remaining selected gravestone symbol, then click Open.

Part 3 – Escape to the lobby
Take the relic from the opened coffin and bring it back out.
Collect the relic key
Pick up the large key relic inside the opened wooden coffin.

Return to the elevator
Retrace your path through the portal and corridors while avoiding capture. Reach the elevator with the key, then ride it back to the lobby.

The wall parchment near Josiah Crane’s tombstone in the dark stone corridor explains the calculation. Its references to dawn and dusk point to birth and death, while the short-burning wicks and surviving signs point to the symbols you need. Chronological dates alone won’t identify the shortest life, and neither will a stone’s fresh or mossy appearance.

Leave Thomas Wren’s spider symbol out of the combination. His lifespan falls outside the three shortest.
Returning to the lobby with the relic awards the Slavering Sylvester avatar item.
