Sony was first to brings us Oreo pre-installed devices in Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. And then, they were also the first OEM other than Google itself to roll out Oreo for its devices, the Xperia XZ Premium. That’s pretty dope, right? Especially when you know that Samsung is still weeks away from releasing stable Oreo update for its Galaxy S8 sets, HTC began rolling out Oreo for U11 in Taiwan only few days ago, while other than that, only OnePlus and Nokia have released Oreo for their devices so far (Nokia 8 in case of latter).
Now, Sony has made the Android 8.0 update available for two more devices: Xperia XZ, and Xperia XZs. Released back in October 2016, the Xperia XZ is one of the only few devices from last year to rock Oreo right now, other handsets being the OnePlus 3 and 3T. The Xperia XZs was released in April this year, BTW.
The Android Oreo update for the Xperia XZ and Xperia XZs comes in as software version 41.3.A.0.401 for both devices. Given Sony’s naming scheme for software updates, we are not surprised here. Anyway, if you own either of these two devices, expect a big-sized OTA to hit your devices soon.
Not that these is not a beta Oreo update, as this is a stable one, and is thus available for all users around the world. Speaking of beta Oreo, OnePlus 5 today became the latest device to get Android 8.0 update as beta.

As is the case with Android 8.0 Oreo, the Xperia XZ and XZs users can expect features like Notification dots, Picture in Picture, Auto-fill, smarter text selection menu, new style of app folder, new design of Quick Setting tiles, etc. when they install the 8.0 upgrade on their device.
The update is rolling out gradually, in phased manner, to all Xperia XZ and XZs handset starting today, but it could take some time to hit your device. So, have patience. you can try to force download the update by heading into Settings app, and then System updates menu. Make sure you have at least 50% battery remaining on your handset for easy operation.
