To reach the Withered Shoals Corrupted Gate, start at the Outskirts of Mammon and head southwest down the Road to Absolution, drop the cliff, cross the bridges through the Deserted Slums and Lonesome Spire, then cleanse the Gate of Mammon Beacon to open the Corrupted Gate right behind it.
The Withered Shoals is the corrupted-gate dungeon tucked into the southwest corner of Mammon — the west gate if you’re standing at Marrow Keep. It’s easy to spot on the map but sealed by corruption, so the run is really two things: getting across the overworld to the Gate of Mammon Beacon, and cleansing that beacon to drop the barrier on the gate behind it. The route below follows the fastest overworld path down from the Outskirts, skipping fights wherever you can.
How to reach the Withered Shoals Corrupted Gate in Mortal Shell 2
Here’s the full southwest run, beacon to beacon, keeping you out of as many fights as possible along the way.
STEP 1/7
Start at the Outskirts of Mammon

Begin at the Outskirts of Mammon Beacon and open your map to orient — your line runs south and west toward the Gate of Mammon and the Corrupted Gate.
STEP 2/7
Drop onto the Road to Absolution

Run straight down from the beacon, slip past the first enemies, and cross onto the Road to Absolution.
STEP 3/7
Drop down the cliff edge

At the broken ledge, drop to the grass below and tap a heavy attack just before you land to cancel the fall damage.
STEP 4/7
Cross the bridges into the Deserted Slums

Push past the enemies and slip by the big stone-throwing ogre on the second bridge as you enter the Deserted Slums.
STEP 5/7
Work up and around to the Lonesome Spire

Ignore the enemies to save health, climb up and around the outside of the slums, then take the detour down to the Lonesome Spire.
STEP 6/7
Cross to the Gate of Mammon Beacon

Head left across the final bridge, pass through the stone archway, and run straight ahead to the Gate of Mammon Beacon sitting right in front of the gate.
STEP 7/7
Cleanse the beacon and step through

Select Cleanse Beacon to open the massive stone gate behind it, then walk through the portal into the Withered Shoals Corrupted Gate.
Break the cliff drop with a heavy attack the instant before you land — it cancels the fall damage entirely, so you can take the shortcut down instead of picking your way around.

Inside the Withered Shoals and where to head next

The moment you pass through the newly opened gate, you pick up a Glimpse — grab it on the way in. From here you’re standing at the start of a full dungeon rather than a single room, so don’t expect the corner objective to be right there.
Key The Withered Shoals runs on three beacons, and the intended path threads through them: Gate of Mammon → Ossinite Falls Beacon → Nameless Pass Beacon, using each as a checkpoint before the zone’s boss. That final stretch past the Nameless Pass Beacon leads up to the Hexapod, the Withered Shoals boss — one of the more forgiving major fights in the region, since it flings its tentacles wide and exposes its head before it strikes. Clear it for the Ova that keeps your campaign progress moving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to cleanse the Gate of Mammon Beacon before the Corrupted Gate will open?
Yes. The Corrupted Gate stays sealed by corruption until you interact with the Gate of Mammon Beacon right in front of it and choose Cleanse Beacon — only then does the stone gate behind it swing open. Trying to walk into the southwest corner without cleansing first just leaves you stuck at an unusable gate. Some runs also need you to clear the nearby Infested Miner first to gather the Ova the cleanse draws on, so if the option won’t fire, look for that fight just ahead.
Is there a faster way to reach the Gate of Mammon Beacon?
There is a shortcut that skips most of the Road to Absolution descent. From the High Lord’s side, take the southern exit, ride the elevator down, and use the jump gate near the Lonesome Spire — that drops you almost directly at the Gate of Mammon Beacon instead of running the full cliff route. Guides that describe heading “west” to cleanse the Withered Shoals gate are pointing at this same beacon-and-gate pair, not a separate path.
