Xiaomi has recently revealed that it will release the MIUI 9, the next big update from the company on or before August 16. And ever since, the company has started teasing the same on various platforms.
However, there’s been no word on the set of phones that will receive the new MIUI 9 update officially. Well, that’s changing today. Xiaomi Mi 6 will apparently be the first phone to get the update and only after that will other models get to taste of MIUI 9.
This information was revealed on the company’s official forums. One of the forum’s administrators (identified as Mushroom bread) has revealed in a group conversation that engineers at Xiaomi have been working quite rigorously to release the update on time and that the first batch of MIUI 9 will offer support only for the Mi 6 initially.
That’s kind of obvious, anyway, considering that the Mi 6 is the company’s most recent flagship handset. There’s still no word on which phones (other than the Mi 6) will receive the MIUI 9 update when it’s released.
The company has recently teased the lock screen of the MIUI 9. Do check it out here.
