More details regarding the LG G6 have surfaced online. According to a report from Korea, LG Display has announced a new QHD+ display panel that features a wider ratio of 18:9. This is apparently the first such QHD LCD panel in the world.
LG could use this new QHD+ panel on the upcoming G6 flagship. It features a resolution of 1,440 x 2,880, which is slightly wider than the 1,440 x 2,560 resolution of the standard QHD display. The company is also likely to use their in-touch technology to make the display thinner.
As per the report, the new panel measures at 1mm thickness, and it doesn’t require a glass on top. It also has very thin bezels all around, improved transmittance rate and uses up to 30 percent less power than before.
The LG G6 is rumored to be launched at the end of February or early March 2017. It would feature a Snapdragon 835 processor and won’t be modular. That’s all the details we know so far.
