The OnePlus 6T screams flagship device all around. The OnePlus 6 was no slouch and still holds its own when it compared to any other flagship device launched in 2018. In fact, the OnePlus 6T does not have a spec boost when it comes to the processor and RAM.

The OnePlus 6T comes with the Snapdragon 845 under the hood like its predecessor, however, the OnePlus 6T base variant storage has been bumped up to 128GB from 64GB storage on the OnePlus 6 which is absolutely fantastic given that the OnePlus 6T is launched with the same price as the OnePlus 6 did.

With the few minor hardware changes to the device, you might be wondering whether or not the OnePlus 6T is the first water-resistant OnePlus device given none of the company phones so far could boast this.

Sadly, the OnePlus 6T still does not have an IP6X rating, hence the device is not officially water resistant.

However, before the lack of an IP6X rating makes you want to maybe not purchase the device, it’s worth noting that OnePlus does have some kind of water resistance as we’ve seen with the OnePlus 6.

You can’t rely on this uncertified water resistance but in case your OnePlus 6T meets a small splash of water, it should withstand it easily.

OnePlus may have not opted to get the device an official IP6X rating to avoid increasing the price of the device, which is amazing given the specs and materials used on the OnePlus 6T. Though the device may be water resistant to a certain extent, we’d recommend not trying to find out what that ‘extent’ actually is.

No major smartphone comes with water damage warranty, hence keeping your shiny new OnePlus 6T away from water would be a wise decision although, a few splashes shouldn’t do much harm.
