If you're tired of cluttered screenshots from your CarPlay sessions, Apple has finally heard you. iOS 26 introduces a subtle but welcome option to disable CarPlay screenshots entirely—here’s how it works.
In iOS 26 Developer Beta 1, a new toggle under Settings > Screen Capture allows users to disable automatic screenshots from CarPlay.

As seen in the shared screenshot, the setting is simply called CarPlay Screenshots, and flipping it off stops the phone from snapping display images from your vehicle's interface.
This small change has been well-received on Reddit, where user u/SolarPebble noted how useful it is for avoiding unnecessary images. Others chimed in, saying it helps keep their photo albums tidy, especially when accidental taps flood the gallery with car-related shots.
It’s a tiny toggle, but for CarPlay users, it’s a quality-of-life upgrade that keeps things less chaotic. iOS 26 really is about the little things.
