April 01, 2019: The Chinese variant of the Huawei P20 Lite is receiving a new software update as EMUI 220.127.116.11. The update has some goodies it brings to the beta channel. First is the improved quality of photos taken with the main camera in Wide aperture mode and secondly, the update fixes an issue where WeChat payments occasionally can’t be used when App twin is enabled.
The update also fixes an issue where fingerprint payments cannot be made in certain banking apps and while we expected a new security patch, the changelog doesn’t say it. Do let us know if this update also brings a new patch level to the P20 Lite, otherwise known as Huawei Nova 3e.
You must be currently using EMUI 18.104.22.168 (beta) or EMUI 22.214.171.124 (stable) in order to receive the OTA download notification for the latest B106. Also, ensure that your device has either model number ANE-AL00 or ANE-TL00.
April 01, 2019: There is a new update available for the P20 Lite variant in China. The rollout is arriving as EMUI 126.96.36.199 and as expected there is plenty it adds to models ANE-AL00 and ANE-TL00.
On top of a new February 2019 security patch, the update also adds the emergency SOS feature that lets users press the power button five times to send their current location to your loved ones multiple times, adds the fixed 4-digit and 6-digit lock screen PIN options and fixes the issue where Find My Phone would occasionally fail at night.
The new software also updates the pre-downloaded songs to better cater to your preference and improves call answering performance in Baidu and AutoNavi navigation. As long as the camera viewfinder recognizes a face, the screen won’t go off. Also, your updated P20 Lite will now prompt you when a recording has been finished successfully, where touching it will take you to the recording.
