Huawei P10, P10 Plus and Nova 3E update gets you September patch and fingerprint authentication support for WeChat payments

Huawei is rolling out new updates for users of the Huawei P10, Huawei P10 Plus, and Nova 3E that not only bring about the latest Android security patches, but also a cool addition for WeChat users in China.

The P10 and P10 Plus update is coming in as EMUI version 8.0.0.367, up from the previous version 8.0.0.361, but this update will only show up for those who haven’t rooted their devices. After the update is installed, your device’s security patch level will jump to September 2018 and for those using these devices in China, WeChat payments will now be available from now henceforth, but you need at least version 6.7.2 of the popular chat app.

While the changelog for the Nova 3E remains the same as the P10 duo, the EMUI software version that brings the new patch and fingerprint authentication for WeChat payments on this device is 8.0.0.168, up from version 8.0.0.165.

All three devices are receiving the update over the air, which means you’ll have to be a little patient because usually, OTA updates can take several days before the download notification shows up for everyone.
