Huawei develops EMUI 9.0 for the Indian market

Huawei has announced a major software update in the form of its Android 9 Pie based custom UI, the EMUI 9.0. This software upgrade has been specifically tailored to meet the needs of the Indian market and its existing app-ecosystem. Let’s take a sneak peek to see what new features this update offers to its Indian consumers:

  • Supports local calendar and 28 local languages
  • Deeper and more comprehensive Paytm integration
  • One-hand operation optimizations
  • Minimized steps to alter device settings
  • 12.9% faster app launch
  • New password vault integrated with fingerprint and face lock
  • GPU Turbo 2.0 for better touchscreen response, network connectivity, and uninterrupted gaming
  • HiVision camera app that recognizes major landmarks and famous paintings. It uses augmented reality to provide users with detailed information
  • Digital balance dashboard tracks device usage metrics which the user can optimize to better device performance
  • Invisible navigation keys is a brand new gesture-based navigation system that performs navigation bar actions with simply a tap or a flick

This move will surely appease Indian consumers, especially those who are not proficient in English nor very technical and struggle with the nitty-gritty of the smartphone. With this update, Huawei has clearly taken a step towards the right direction to capture a greater share in the booming Indian smartphone market.
