To get the Speed Droplet and Frozen Droplet fast in Grounded 2, equip Sticky Fingers, trap regular Aphids for the Speed Droplet and Woolly Aphids near the greenhouse for the Frozen Droplet, then save and reload every steal attempt until each one drops.
Both droplets are among the rarer trinkets in Grounded 2, and neither one comes off a corpse — you have to steal them from living Aphids, and that only works with the Sticky Fingers trinket equipped. The Speed Droplet sits in a regular Aphid’s steal pool and the Frozen Droplet in a Woolly Aphid’s, and since there’s no fixed drop rate on either, the whole game is about cramming in as many steal attempts as possible before you reload. Here’s the fastest way to set that up for both.
Speed Droplet and Frozen Droplet at a glance
| Droplet | How to steal it | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Speed Droplet | Steal from regular Aphids with Sticky Fingers | The Quickness — about 10% faster movement |
| Frozen Droplet | Steal from Woolly Aphids with Sticky Fingers | Minty Dodge — icy Chilling AoE on a dodge roll |
Key The split is simple: regular Aphids carry the Speed Droplet, Woolly Aphids carry the Frozen Droplet, and Sticky Fingers is the one tool that unlocks either. There’s no set drop rate on either steal, so both come down to the same thing — repeat the attempt and reload until it lands.
What you need before farming either droplet
| Requirement | Use |
|---|---|
| Sticky Fingers trinket | Lets you steal one item from a living creature |
| Fists or low-damage hits | Keep the Aphid alive for more steal attempts |
| Healbasa | Heal a trapped Aphid so it survives extra punches |
| Manual save and reload | Re-roll the steal until the droplet drops |
| Planks or mushrooms and a peaked dome | Build walls and a cage to trap the target |
The single most important rule is that you cannot loot these from a dead Aphid. Kill the bug and you get nothing; the droplet only ever comes out of the steal mechanic, which means Sticky Fingers has to be equipped first. It’s tucked inside a gum cluster in the Abyss, and you need to crack that gum open to reach it — so grab it before you even think about hunting Aphids.
Don’t chase fresh Aphids one by one — trap one, then punch and drop a Healbasa on a loop so it keeps healing back up. One trapped bug gives you far more steal rolls than sprinting across the park hitting new ones.
How to get Sticky Fingers and steal the Speed Droplet in Grounded 2
Sticky Fingers comes first, then the Speed Droplet is a save-and-reload grind off regular Aphids.
STEP 1/8
Go to the Abyss gum cluster

Sticky Fingers is hidden in the Abyss — search near the Toe Biter Shell landmark, a little off the edge of the map.
STEP 2/8
Crack the gum open

Use a Croak’s Worst to break the gum cluster apart and expose the trinket inside.
STEP 3/8
Equip Sticky Fingers

With it on, you can steal a single item from any bug in the park — but only one per creature.
STEP 4/8
Switch to your fists

Fists deal almost no damage, so the Aphid survives long enough for repeat steal attempts.
STEP 5/8
Find regular Aphids

Regular Aphids hold the Speed Droplet in their steal pool; they die in about two hits, or three on the easiest difficulty.
STEP 6/8
Save, then punch and reload

Stand next to an Aphid, make a manual save, punch it, and reload the save if nothing gets stolen.
STEP 7/8
Trap an Aphid with Healbasas

Run one up a blade of grass, box it in below, drop a Healbasa to keep it alive, and punch between heals.
STEP 8/8
Reload after every steal

You only get one item per creature, so reload each time you pull the wrong thing and repeat until the Speed Droplet drops.
Stealing the Frozen Droplet from Woolly Aphids in Grounded 2
The Frozen Droplet works the same way, but the target is bigger and needs a proper cage to pin it down.
- Head to the greenhouse side — Woolly Aphids gather around the greenhouse — the corner usually has two or three of them clustered together.
- Pack walls and a peaked dome — Bring planks or mushrooms for walls plus a peaked thatch dome, since a Woolly Aphid is big and wide.
- Drop the dome over one — Run up and place the peaked dome straight over a Woolly Aphid to trap it in a tidy capture cage.
- Wall it in — Build a wall around the trapped Aphid so it can’t slip out while you farm.
- Punch and reload until it drops — Same loop as before — save, punch with fists, reload on a wrong steal, and repeat until the Frozen Droplet lands.

What each droplet does once equipped
| Droplet | Best use |
|---|---|
| Speed Droplet | Faster travel and exploration around the park |
| Frozen Droplet | Dodge-triggered frost AoE for Chilling and crowd-control builds |
The Speed Droplet is the straightforward one: it grants The Quickness, worth about 10% extra movement speed. It’s a pure travel-and-exploration pick, most useful if you spend a lot of time crossing the park on foot.
The Frozen Droplet is more of a wildcard. Its Minty Dodge effect fires an icy AoE that applies Chilling to nearby enemies whenever you pull off a dodge roll — basically the same frosty burst a Woolly Aphid throws out. It runs on a cooldown, so you can’t chain it off every single dodge, and there’s an obvious opening for frost-stacking builds even if it isn’t a must-have yet.
Farming mistakes that waste your time

The biggest time-sink is hitting Aphids too hard. Bring out a real weapon and the bug dies on the first swing, which burns your one steal roll and forces you to find a fresh target — fists and Healbasas are what keep the attempts coming. Right behind that is trying to loot the droplet off a corpse; it never appears in normal drops, so a dead Aphid is a wasted one.
Two more will quietly eat your afternoon. Forgetting to equip Sticky Fingers means every punch does nothing but damage, and carrying on after you steal the wrong item throws away your best odds — the moment you pull anything that isn’t the droplet, reload and go again rather than moving on.
