OnePlus 7 Pro users have taken to Twitter, Reddit and other social media platforms to highlight the issue of ‘ghost touch’ that a few of them are facing. What was an otherwise flawless experience has been suddenly brought to question since reports of ‘crazy phantom touches’ have started emerging across the internet.
Basically, the phone is executing apps and actions without the user’s permission. There are also random screen presses that users have noticed which alerted them to the issue in the first place.
Fortunately, OnePlus is aware of this issue and they have taken to their forum to acknowledge the same. They have also asked users to report it via the OnePlus Community App’s feedback section to keep track of how many phones are acting up.
Users reported that the phantom touch issue is triggered when they run the CPU-Z app. The ghost touches reduced substantially once they disabled the app. This issue also seems to subside when they disabled the NFC feature. But these are temporary solutions to what most users are hoping is a simple software issue that can be rectified by OnePlus with an update.

The OnePlus 7 Pro’s largely user untested display with a 90Hz refresh rate is the first of its kind in the realm of smartphones. This made it susceptible to issues that OnePlus also failed to anticipate. As of now, the ghost touch issue has not turned into an epidemic, only a few users have reported it so far. Hopefully, OnePlus will be able to rectify this issue soon.
