In the latest update, Telegram announced a few new features like Multiple Answers, Quiz, and Visible Votes. The last of which to deepen the insight of the users by displaying the user’s opinion along with their respective identities. User identity is only visible to the members of the group where the poll has been initiated. With this new ‘Polls 2.0’ update, Telegram gives a tough competition to WhatsApp which doesn’t have any feature for creating polls.

How to create a voting poll where you can check who voted what

Step 1: Open the Telegram app and tap on the search ([icon name=”search” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]) icon at the top right.

Step 2: Search for @pollbot and tap on PollBot.

Step 3: You can check the commands available in Pollbot and then tap on START.

Step 4: Type /newpoll in the edit message bar and hit the Send button to create a poll.

Step 5: Enter the name of the poll.

Step 6: Then enter the first answer option as prompted.

Step 7: After entering the required number of answer options, type /done and tap the Send button to create the poll.

Step 8: Tap on the generated poll link to share it.

Step 9: Select the Group or Channel where you wish to share the poll and then tap on ADD.

Step 10: The created poll will be shared with the members of the group. 

Step 11: You can also vote for the poll you just created. Tap on any of the answer options displayed below the edit message bar.

Step 12: Your selection will be displayed to the other members of the group.

Step 13: You can also check the results of the poll when required. Type in /results to check the number of votes registered for each answer option.

Step 14: After checking the results, you can either restart the same poll in that group by typing /poll or you can end the ongoing poll by typing /endpoll.
