To complete Flinging Mud, start any Dirt Race and earn five Air Skills by hitting crests, side hills, or jumps at speed; they do not all need to be earned in one race.
Flinging Mud is a Spring Daily Challenge in Forza Horizon 6. The important part is the event type: the Air Skills must happen inside Dirt Races, so random jumps in Free Roam will not handle this one.
Flinging Mud requirements and limits
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Challenge name | Flinging Mud |
| Event type | Dirt Races only |
| Skill count | 5 Air Skills |
| Accepted grades | Air |
| Playlist context | Spring Daily Challenge |
The challenge asks for five Air Skills of any grade while you are in a Dirt Race. You can earn them across multiple Dirt Races, so a flat route does not ruin the daily as long as you move to another dirt event afterward.
What counts as an Air Skill

An Air Skill registers when your car leaves the ground and the game gives you the Air pop-up after the landing. Air counts toward Flinging Mud.
Use a fast, light car with strong loose-surface acceleration, then hit crests and raised shoulders hard while keeping the next checkpoint in reach.
How to complete Flinging Mud in Forza Horizon 6
Use a Dirt Race with hilly terrain, then keep the car fast enough to trigger five Air Skill pop-ups before leaving the event.
STEP 1/10
Select a Dirt Race

Pick a Dirt Race from the map so the challenge tracks in the correct event type.
STEP 2/10
Choose hilly terrain

A mountain-area Dirt Race is a good target because crests and uneven dirt sections create more jump chances.
STEP 3/10
Start the race event

Launch the selected Dirt Race and stay in the event while you work on the five Air Skills.
STEP 4/10
Pick a fast car

Choose one of your fastest available cars, preferably something that can stay quick and stable on loose dirt.
STEP 5/10
Begin the race

Start driving and focus on speed over winning, because the objective only needs Air Skills.
STEP 6/10
Hit the first crest or jump

Take raised dirt sections at speed until the Air pop-up appears after landing.
STEP 7/10
Keep looking for more jumps

Continue through the route and use every crest or raised section that can lift the car off the ground.
STEP 8/10
Use side hills carefully

Move toward roadside hills when there is room, but do not drift so wide that you miss checkpoints.
STEP 9/10
Repeat whenever the route rises

Each time you see a usable hill or crest, jump it cleanly and keep the race moving.
STEP 10/10
Get the final Air Skill

Keep going until the fifth Air Skill appears; after that, finishing or leaving the event should complete the daily.
Video help
When Air Skills stop tracking
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Air Skills earned in Free Roam | Start a Dirt Race and earn the skills inside the event. |
| Cross Country event selected | Switch to a Dirt Race instead. |
| Car is too slow | Use a faster car and hit crests with more speed. |
| Route is too flat | Pick a hillier Dirt Race, especially around mountain terrain. |
| Leaving too early | Stay in the race until five Air Skill notifications appear. |
| Collisions or missed checkpoints | Land cleanly, avoid hard hits, and keep the checkpoint line under control. |
KEY!
If the counter is not moving, the problem is usually the race type or the jump quality. The challenge is strict about Dirt Races, and the game needs to award the actual Air Skill pop-up rather than just a small bump or rough landing.
Start another Dirt Race if needed
You do not have to force all five Air Skills into the same event. If your current Dirt Race runs out of hills, finish or exit after banking whatever progress you made, then start another Dirt Race and repeat the same jump-focused approach.
This makes the daily much easier: treat every Dirt Race as a chance to collect a few Air pop-ups, and stop once the fifth one has registered.
