DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX Android 4.0 Update Coming Soon, Says Verizon via Text Message

Verizon is sending text messages to users of Motorola DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX that their devices will soon be updated to Android 4.0 and that one of their app, Mobile IM, will not work work after the update, so users better download a new instant messaging app (probably from the Play Store).

That puts Motorola in check to their promise of bringing the ICS upgrade to RAZR and RAZR MAXX in Q2 of 2012. And a text message like this from Verizon confirms it that they are done with the testing part and the update is just a push of a button away.

Below is Verizon’s text message to one of their customer:

Free Verizon Message: Your phone will soon be upgraded to Android 4.0. At that time we will remove your Verizon Wireless Mobile IM app because it is not supported in Android 4.0. Please download a new instant messaging app to use IM on your phone. Thank you for using Mobile IM!
