Zenfone Pegasus 3 Android 7.0 Nougat update: All you need to know

Launch back in 2016, AsusĀ Pegasus 3 didnā€™t gather much interest from users. In fact, Asus has already removed its listing from it store, but weā€™re there are someĀ Pegasus 3 users who are looking forward to Nougat update from Asus for their device.

Launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on-board, and with 3GB RAM, theĀ Pegasus 3 would run Nougat OS without a fuss. But Asus release Android 7.0 build forĀ Pegasus 3, thatā€™s another question. And even if yes, then when.

Will Pegasus 3 gets Nougat update?

So, while we think the AsusĀ Pegasus 3 would get Nougat update, given its release date and capable spec-sheet, we are not sure about its release.

Even though Asus hasā€™t confirmed a releaseĀ Pegasus 3 Nougat OTA, we would be very surprised if itā€™s pushed to Q3 2017, as this should really be happening within Q2 2017.

Expected Release Date: May-June 2017.

Asus Nougat update: Current status

Well, Asus has, till now, rolled out Android 7.0 update for its various Zenfone 3, including its variants ZenFone 3 Ultra and ZenFone 3 Deluxe. There was an issue with the ZenFone 3 Nougat build under first rollout, but it the distribution resumed on March 2 for good.

Itā€™s pretty clear that Asus isnā€™t doing enough to impress with its work on software, as by now, we should be looking at ZenFone 3 sets with Android 7.1.1 installed,Ā but it looks like we are no where near that.

Right now, Asus is busy pushing little updates to fix bugs and bring a feature or two to theĀ Pegasus 3, as it recently released an OTA that brought intelligent power saving mode to the device.

What do you think of Asus? And its software update performance?

  1. While many far more reputed companies are still trailing behind, Asus has actually managed to break into Nougat updates for most of its zenfone family. Pretty late but all things considered, pretty impressive too

  2. wow Nogut update already on ASUS, glad to see they r also providing the 7.0 update to the lower end devices rather than going for flagships and forgetting the midrange models, I’m also a ASUS Zenfone max SD410 user, if the phone like Pegasus 3 gets a Nogut update then there r still chances that my zenfone max and all the other midrange ASUS devices also will get it soon!!

    really intresting to see this.

  4. Its great to see that ASUS is updating to android 7.0.

  5. Will it still have the same Asus UI or will we all get a chance to see a simple and better UI that reflects the Nougat UI ?

I am the owner of ASUS Pegasus 3 and very pleased with this smartphone, it works perfectly, the battery holds two days, all the features of this smartphone make me happy. I ask you only one thing, update the android to 7.
