Asus Zenfone AR clears FCC, US release should be close

Asus announced the Zenfone AR in January this year, and it is only the second smartphone in the world to feature Google’s Project Tango technology. Now, as per the latest FCC listings, the phone should soon be released in the United States.

According to the listing, the model number is Asus A002, but no other details are known. Asus had stated that the smartphone will be released in Q2 2017. And it’s almost Q2 2017, so it is highly likely that we would see the phone released very soon.

The Zenfone AR has a 5.7-inch display with WQHD resolution, a Snapdragon 821 processor, 8GB of RAM, an 8MP front camera, and a 3300 mAh battery. The Project Tango setup at the back of the phone consists of three different cameras. One is a 23MP main camera, and then there is a motion sensing and a depth-sensing camera as well.

We will let you know when the Zenfone AR is available for purchase, with other details such as pricing. It shouldn’t take too long now.
