Barred doors are doors that have an added layer of protection like a wooden barrier or lock that prevents the player from entering.
The devs of AC Valhalla have made sure that no one method fits all for the barred doors in the game. You will have to approach some of them differently and by this, we mean more exploration, climbing, and ingenuity but rest assured that one of these methods is why you will be doing them.
Method #1- Look for a roundabout
There is one barred door in Stavanger which stands between you and a treasure chest that contains a Carbon Ingot. The door restricts the player from entering the house. In such a case, you need to check whether there is a window or a weak, breakable element that can be destroyed to access the house.
Go around the house and check the windows/ walls by shooting arrows at them, once they are broken, you will be in without a problem. In the case of the Stavanger house, the access point lies through the roof, through a wicker wall that you need to destroy with a bow, so the game demands a certain amount of ingenuity at points like this and expects you to go the extra mile.
Method #2- Look for the key
Chances are that the key is hidden nearby and you need to find it. In order to do this, activate Odin Sight by pressing down on R3 and use it to locate the hidden key. Once you see the key, you can take it and use it to unlock the door.
Method #3- Unlock with Odin Sight
If there are no open windows, then you need to locate the lock of the door using Odin’s sight so that you can destroy it. Activate Odin sight to pinpoint the location of the lock first. Next, look around for an opening through which you can hit the lock and take it down. Doing so will then unlock the door and give you entry where you need it.
