ZUK Z1 smartphone with Cyanogen ROM and fingerprint scanner to launch this year

A China based startup firm with big objectives will be coming up with a flagship smartphone later this year in partnership with Cyanogen operating system. After OnePlus and Cyanogen parted ways, the latter’s operating system is popping up on many devices. But, only a few manufacturers work along with the ROM maker.

Now, ZUK that is a Chinese startup is planning to release a new smartphone called ZUK Z1. ZUK is backed by 360, a software company based in China also known as Qihoo and Lenovo. The venture cost a price of $409 million on Qihoo and so it is safe that they are not messing up with the deal.

The flagship smartphone named ZUK Z1 will be launched in collaboration with Cyanogen in the latter half of this year. Eventually, it will feature the CM ROM out of its box. Also, the device is slated to arrive with a huge battery and fingerprint scanner.

The collaboration with Cyanogen tips that ZUK is hoping to enter the markets outside China. This hints that we might be getting a stiff challenger to the OnePlus smartphones with Cyanogen ROM.
